Team for Wigan picks itself...surely

Need to let Nando roam.

The whole wide left or up top thing...for me he's at his best operating in that space between the midfield and your strikers. In and around the box with licence to roam and cause problems.

100%.

And it may sound crazy, but there's nothing wrong with Nuhiu drifting out to the flanks. One of his strengths is receiving the ball with his back to goal in those areas from passes/throw ins etc, and using a bit of skill to turn and beat his man or win a free kick.

Joao is the one I'd try to keep high up top as often as possible.

Well after  he watched Saturday’s game if Jos still

- picks Lees on the right hand side  of a back three

- plays the midfield 3 of Hutch, Joey and Bannan

- picks a front two of FF and Nuhiu

then we need to start worrying

We were playing the fifth best team in Spain. We finished mid-table in the Championship last season. Get some perspective.

It’s nothing to do with the opposition.

I just don’t think the things I raised are getting the best out of our players. Which is a bit strange because Jos did get the best out of them last season.

He played Lees in the middle of the back 3 and didn’t play FF and Nuhiu as a 2 man attack. Always had 3.

Hutch - can't see him in midfield this season

Resources are very thin on the ground in the middle. Without Hutchinson we've got Pelupessy, Jones, Bannan and Reach for what will probably be 3 starters. There's also Lee and Abdi of course, but who knows how many games they're going to be fit for? This is reflected in having Connor Kirby and Alex Hunt given first team squad numbers.

Maybe all the pre-season shenanigans has all been a trick. The past 3 seasons we became predictable very quickly. Now nobody has a clue what the feck is going on!

For me we're poor in defence and powder puff in midfield.

Our strongest position is up top.

Hoping Jos realises our best chance of winning games is getting the ball forward as quickly and as often as possible, and letting a very effective frontline of Joao, Nuhiu and FF do their thing.

Go for it every week. Teams will struggle to handle that front 3.

If he goes with 2 up top we won't create enough imo

Wow.

Couldnt agree with you more. 3 up top every week for me.

                Wildsmith

        Lees     Pudil.    JVA

Palmer.                                Boyd

                     Hutch

     Pelupessy            Bannan

              FF      Nuhiu

It was well balanced against a very good Villa Real side who were technically superior and tactically astute...operating at 75%

You wouldn’t play our player of the season last year then? Reach is better than Pelupessy in the middle I don’t see the need to play 2 defensive midfield players when we already play 5 at the back. We need to beat sides not sit back and scrape a draw against Wigan.

Never happen but for 352 something like this with boyd swapping with reach if better that way, 2-1/3-1 win.

          Hutchinson.   Lees.   Pudil

Palmer.  Boyd  Pelupessy bannan Reach.

                   Joao  Forestieri

Will prob be hutch in cm tho with jva cb, nuhiu cf and a scrappy 1-1/0-1 WTF:
