We are loaning him because nobody will buy him, nothing else.

We can't afford him.

We are foooked financially due to our 3 year spunkwall extravaganza.

The sooner we accept we blew our chance and now have a few years of recovery, and learning from our mistakes, the easier it will be.

Cheers Doyen.

How many players did we sign with doyen

Our fans should celebrate every goal that Rhodes scores for Norwich as though he's scored it for us - in fact doubly so.

A hugely successful season for Norwich and we might just be able to move him on for good come next Summer.

Who are the people who actually decide what is and isn't? Someone must know

The EFL accountants peesumably.

They have the rules, they are supplied the information they will ask further questions if required.

This information is simply not in the public domain, no way of knowing the true figure. We can but hypothesize

Thanks Mole - really informative.

Whats your opinion on where we are at now we have loaned our Rhodes in terms of players outgoing and incoming?

And, is there anyway that Chansiri can pump money into the club sideways (so to speak) to decrease any deficit?

Well if Im really honest - I cant understand how it makes any difference - given that the accounts book will be closed now for last season (at end of financial year May31st)

We have to submit forecasts for our year end position in March - if we did that and it showed us to be on the cusp or over our FFP margins - it may be we have negotiated some leeway to bring down our accumulated losses - maybe before the start of the season? I really don't know - that is pure speculation.

Yes there are other ways that money could be pumped in sideways - for example - sponsorship of the whole stadium.

The only way to solve the problem is to let the lad go elsewhere; if that means we can bring a loan or two in then great, but even if it just helps balance the books then it still makes perfect sense to me

Agreed - more important to balance the books than go up just now

Nothing like a bit of cheerfulness  to rally the fans !

Ps, are you really the same Mr Farrell as the one who says he doesn't see any Negativity on Owlstalk............

Exactly. This season will be the most difficult one financial-wise, but if we make it and come out with a decent squad, the next season is where we can seriously start thinking about going up. Of course, in football anything can happen but no need to risk everything now. We've suffered for quite a long time and one season more is not that bad if the trend just is positive.

It's all about reading between the lines and getting the humour and sillyness.

Our financial year concludes at the end of May each year.

As you can see from the accounts our accumulated losses for the last 2 financial years is £30.5m (these are the two relevant years for FFP (P&S) as the financial year May 2018 which has just concluded is the relevant figure to be added in the rolling 3 year period...

Certain expenditure is allowable, as has been covered at length.

But given the Rhodes fee from Boro (if £8m will be in accounts at £2m per year) plus his wages, the undisclosed fee for van Aken (reported at between £2-4m depending who you believe), the £750k for Pelupessy along with new improved contracts for a host of players with no outgoings, you can see the potential problem.

We have to hope we lost less than £8.5m in the financial year just ended

I'll post you the club accounts page below. I'm pretty sure casbah owl will still find something he doesn't believe though

I was led to believe we would get inside the parameters but without moving players on new additions would be difficult. The fact we are trialling a player like Sam Smart indicates things are not totally dire. Substantial sums have been spent on ground and training ground and these can be removed from losses declared. Also many players in last year of contract so clear plan as to reduce expenditure is evident.

If it happens then Jordan seems a nice guy and a good role model. Real shame it didn't work out, but would wish him all the best. If he does well then doesn't matter as was never going to play this season when we have Joao, Fessi, Big Dave and Hooper. Just doesn't seem to have the pace anymore.

There will be a thread on here every time he scores saying Carlos, Jos and Chansiri are clueless frauds and should have never let him leave

By the way - Nixon was adamant this deal would get done...even when all the local journos said it was off.

He also called Sam Smart before anyone else.

He’s also claiming Palmer is interesting Bolton but will sign a new deal.

Just keeping you Nixon naysayers updated.

And the tw@t blocked me for something unbelievably trivial
