Dont underestimate the knock on effects of England’s success

winning the World Cup could easily mean we get 5000 more on every home game and shift record breaking numbers of shirts etc too

fingers crossed

Don't see the link between The national team and us,if any of the national team played for us then maybe.

Facts indeed but have you got evidence that it was the WC effect which caused the increase in gates and not other influences?

Not saying your wrong just asking the question

It's obvious it's going to

Why on earth would England win the World Cup for everyone to then stay away from football?

Any evidence that happened back in ‘66. When Kop padmission price was just a few pence by today’s standards.

I’m old enough to have been around at the time but I don’t recall a big uplift in the average gate in spite of being in the top division and cup finalists to boot.

Be delighted to be proved wrong though.
