If you’re running multiple businesses under an umbrella structure and one of them is a football club and the other is, let’s say, a property development business with hotels and such, how does FFP effect your business(es)?

Except the hotel is nothing to do with Sheffield United FC, nor does it pretend to sponsor it.

Nothing to do with Sheffield United...are you sure about that? but no they don't sponsor the team

Scarborough Group International own the hotel.

Scarborough Group International own a company, who own 50% of  Sheffield United.

The two are merely connected by the company that owns and part-owns them. The football club was split away from all Kevin McCabe's ventures a long time ago.

It's a lot more complicated than that mate.

Sheffield United Ltd (Kevin McCabe) and UTB LLC (Prince whatever) each own 50% each of Blades Leisure Ltd. Blades Leisure owns 100% of The Sheffield United Football Club Ltd, which runs the actual club.

That's 4 different companies there.

All properties; The ground and academy etc. are owned by Sheffield United Ltd (NOT Sheffield United Football Club Ltd). They were separated from the football club a while back. The hotel isn't part of any of those companies. Granted, the hotel still acts as a partner with the club.

Part of the legal battle is that the Prince is only interested in buying The Sheffield United Football Club Ltd, he's not interested in buying the ground or the academy.
