Now this post will no doubt cause a stir, and it’s not about the kit, but usually when you have a kit release you see the best players modelling them

no ff, bannan, hooper. A bit odd to me

fat people and those under 5ft 8inch don't make good models …...

Reachino's 'Jos tribute' wants a bit of work before opening day :luhukay:

Crikey!

I had to zoom in to notice that. There's no halfway house when it comes to a 'tache: you either embrace its hirsute loveliness or you don't.

What Reach is currently rocking is an abomination. I expect Luhukay to drop him if he doesn't sort it out one way or another during pre-season.

Having slept on things and looked again this morning, I have to say it's bang average but an improvement. Which goes to show how absolutely disgusting the last 2 kits have been.

It's not a striped shirt. It's blue shirt with a couple of white stripes on the front, as if it's been done grudgingly just to shut the fans up.

The shorts are a thing of beauty, Wednesday should always play in black shorts, big thumbs up.

The socks are horrific. Quite possibly the worst in my 40-odd years of watching us. WTAF is that elev8 branding doing on them like that. Are we Sheffield Wednesday or Elev8 FC. Looks really, really poor.

Overall it's a solid 6 maybe a 7. Seriously, nothing to get excited about, never mind thanking the club for "listneing".

Solid backs make it much easier to see numbers, stripes with numbers on are a commentators nightmare.

I don't give a fig about making commentators lives easier! The solid backs came into fashion in the 90s/00s - commentators coped fine before then. A decent shirt has stripes on both sides...

Definitely. We don't want such a prestigious award associated with that godawful semi-’tache, do we?

Strip him of his title and give it to a man who knows how to grow some proper facial hair.

Well done, Atdhe.

Nice kit.

Stripes are back - on the front!

As for those complaining about a solid blue back...

Lighten up a bit. We've had a few pretty decent strips with stripes on the front and a solid blue back. If this is the compromise then I'm all for it.

One of our best seasons in recent history we had a solid blue back- 2005 Play Off Final.

Yep. That was a decent kit too. Shame about the Napoleons casino on the front, but what can you do.

I know we got relegated in it, but that 1999/2000 Wednesday kit is a nice one too.

If this is the "compromise" from the chairman (not saying it is) in terms of having stripes on the front and solid blue on the back then it's one I'm happy to take.

It's a good kit and with the black shorts really screams Sheffield Wednesday imo.

Have watched Wednesday for SEVENTY years, and so, naturally, was a 'stripes' man. Unfortunately, I can't attend as many games as I would like,, though probably more than many posters on here., and so the players are not as easily picked out , what with failing eyesight, and the  certain  tendancy to mix players yup.. For that reason alone, I welcome the all-blue back which will enable me to pick out the players, but I have got my beloved stripes on the front, so there. I also like the way in whichour owner/main sponsor, Mr Chansiri, has got his name across the front but picked out in Gold , so that it does not look obtrusive.

as for the badge, yes, its the new badge which itself is more like the original Wednesday badge I knew, and IMO an improvement on the futurisc logo of recent years.

Finally, don't forget that there are very few clubs who's shirt design hasn nt  altered. Times move on. All-in-all a good effort.

All kit manufacturers use branding on the socks.

edit: I prefer the socks from Chansiri's first season.
