BREAKING - George Hirst Gone

Underlines how pointless it is funding an academy at our level.

the good players we develop will leave for bigger and better things, possibly via ‘feeder clubs’ like this situation. The bad ones we will release, and so we are funding the whole thing for the occasional half decent product like Palmer.

its a waste of time and money.

What would have happened last season if we’d have not had U23’s to call upon?

An overreaching and irrational love of a group of random blokes thrown together under the banner name of a sports club int it.

It doesn't mean owt really does it. I'll probably be dead in 30 years.  Why bother with football at all.  I could mow the grass.

Why does a man crawl a thousand miles over broken glass to tell a bird he loves her. Doesn't matter. They'll both peg it eventually. Dust in the etha.

Why bake a cake. Why cry when you watch Elvis' final few Vegas era shows. None of it matters.

In fact why care about even breathing itself .

Why care about whether an old woman chucks a cat in a wheelie bin. Or whether a wiggy bloke wants to build a massive wall.

Why cry when yer mam and dad peg it. Why care about whether yer bog roll is double sheeted. Why cry when yer bird shags the owner of a football forum.

Why anything. Why breathe. Why live.

Pain does this to men. Take it easy brother.

Despite not playing didn’t he come back for u23s and score? Not bad in those circumstances. I’d be amazed if the only option was for him to go and play in Belgium.

He did not look at his best in game he scored. He was called up and then dropped from squad. The only clubs mentioned in press were Man utd and Everton. Everton now have manager in same agency as Hirst and Mourinho promotes Doyen personnel whenever a chance. Leicester were only other club mentioned that was 12 months  ago. Clearly did not generate interest they thought, if you remove signing on fee I suspect he is on money no better or worse than we offered. A complete mess for the lad and by the time spent playing in Belgium thirty months of career wasted at key development stage. Very sad state of affairs.

Agreed, although I’m sure I saw Leeds and a few others mentioned in the press.

I'm sure you're telling the truth.

Just always bit wary of insider gossip, ITK stuff on here.

No offense intended.

I can assure you that I'm no ITK' er, but the story of being in the Springett suite is the truth, the whole true so help me. It is NOT gossip, and I can back it up. And no offense taken.

I have no axe to grind with either of the Hirsts, in fact was a 'lover' of David when he was playing

I just feel that the whole episode has been blown out of all proportion. Good as George is, he (and probably his dad) has tried to hold the club to ransom in order to get as much money as he can. In the short conversation that David had with our table, I got the impression that he felt that Wednesday had not been the best employer for him, and that, had he been able, his career could have gone to great heights. He also felt that his son could be better than him given different employers.

I cannot, and will not, comment on this. Nothing concrete was said about tems or treatment, of either himself or his son. He simply said that, were it anything to do with him, George would not sign for us, since there were better opportunities for him elsewhere.  Time has born out what we were told.

May I say that, unlike many W'ites, I do not bear George any ill-will. He has a talent, and should use it to benefit himself, and his family. If that talent should be used elsewhere, so be it. Football is essentially a team game, and is constantly evolving, and, as one talent disappears, another will evolve.

We managed without signing Eic Cantona..

Now, what anyone thinks about Buxton Gent, for my money, his integrity is beyond reproach. The spinners (and you know who you are) in the David Birst camp can spin away, the situation as I see it is the scene was set and it wasn't going to change, ever. Then the spinners got to work to try and blame the club and the chairman. These so called Wednesdayites are a f---in disgrace and again, you know who you are, in fact, i've noticed some have changed their stance to regain some modicum of credibility, you really have no morals, resonate with anyone?

UTO FTH and the blunts.

I’ve seen comments tonight on twitter saying what happens when Borukov asks for a new contact that ‘deems’ his worth and the chairman refuses ....

absolutely unbelievable that there’s Wednesdayites still out there willing to smash the chairman, if I’m honest I’ve had enough of it and genuinely believe we don’t deserve a chairman like Mr Chansiri

People need to understand and realise that David ‘legend’ Hirst is only interested in what benefits him and and his pocket ... not the club !

Some fans certainly don't. They were likely the ones slagging Milan off as well for not "putting any money in". Sadly as a big club we have a large amount of idiots as fans.

Seriously.  Chalk up the geniuses wanting to do away with the academy "just because Huddersfield did" in this idiot category.
