He proved pretty irreplaceable the whole time he was out injured last season

But we were looking to replace him from our own pool rather than a worldwide one

The only reason to sell him would be to ease our FFP burden. How would that work if we bought someone as good/better?

Seems like a fairly strong winger with decent skills, tho not the quickest.

Can play wide or up front.

As has been said, I'd assume he'd play wide right of a 3, with Fessi on the other flank.

Seems a decent option as a loan signing.

Already answered but how good someone is is not determined by how much they cost.

Mahrez is the best example of that

There are exceptions and 'players come good' everywhere

what we have with FF is a player we know is good enough, and we know makes us as a side very much better

Is it worth offloading him and taking a risk on a cheapo?

Why would Benfica buy Amaral then loan him to us?

If he was young and needed game time I could understand it, but he's 27 in a couple of months, doesn't make sense.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Benfica are like Chelsea and they like signing players so that their rivals don’t get them. Or they are good at spotting investment opportunities. I.e. they buy cheaply in Portugal and know that English clubs will pay more if the player does well over here

Depends on our accounts and the ability to get others out at a guess and that’s before you start to consider where Forestieri sees his future
