It's all very quiet at Hillsborough

Roamin' in the loamin' on the bonny banks o' Clyde
Roamin' in the loamin' with my lassie by my side
When the sun has gone to rest
That's the time we love the best
Ach, it's lovely roamin' in the loamin'

I've seen lots of bonnie lassies travelin' far and wide
But my heart is centered now on bonny Kate McBride
And altho' I'm no' a man who throws a word away
I'm surprised mysel' sometimes at all I've got to say.

One nicht in the loamin' we were trippin' side by side
I kissed her twice and asked her once if she would be my bride
She was shy, so was I, we were baith the same
But I got brave and braver on the joumey comin' hame

Last nicht after strollin' we got hame at halfpast nine
Sittin' at the kitchen fire I asked her to be mine
When she promised, I got up and danced the Hielan' fling
I've just been at the jew'llers and I've picked a nice wee ring

They have the nets up and the lines still drawn because of the recent charity and fan games the club have organised.

I don’t recall any complaints regarding our pitch last season. I trust the club to maintain the pitch in accordance with Desso’s guidance.

Sorry if you took offence by my jovial quote Andrew ?

It's wasn't meant as a slur on your professional knowledge ..

What's the best way to deal with Welsh chafer grub

found one eating my cornflower roots the other day ..

my grass is ok though ....

Collect them and catapult them over the kop wall. Maybe they'll make their way to the pitch and start eating weeds or summat?

Is the pitch now hired out for courting and weddings?

It'll never be reight at this rate.

I wish in my life the fact the wednesdays pitch hasn’t been worked on and goal posts are there , were such great concerns . It amazes me how much time woke folk on here have

Absolutely this.

My world is pretty much falling apart right now and puts football into perspective as the insignificant passtime it really is.

Some people live on here and worry about this sort of crapola.

Unreal.

Seriously they need to get out / find another hobby that involves social interaction with real people not our virtual avatars.

Quite worrying lack of activity at Hillsborough. Never mind the sign falling down, this is usually the busiest time of the year for the ground staff, preparing the pitch for the new season. Our Desso pitch was easily in its worst state since it was laid at the end of the season (I posted photos a couple of months ago). So the expectation is that there would be some quite frantic work carrying out repairs and over seeding with a loam mix. The Desso site quite clearly lists the work which should be done in the close season.

And yet, nothing is happening. For the first time I can remember in the summer, no loam has been delivered, no repairs have been made, the pitch doesn't look as though anything is being done. The goalposts are still up, the nets are still on, the remains of markings are still there. Looks as though the plug has been pulled on expenditure.

At this rate, we will start the season with the worst pitch in the Championship. Is anyone worried?

Used to work with a guy called Andrew Robinson, he fixed bogs n things nice chap.

About what time of year do the lady birds come out... greenfly are playing havoc with my roses.

I just thought seeing as this is turning into a gardening thread.

Just didn't know if I should buy some spray or wait a week or so...

I’m sure the ground staff know what they’re doing. I didn’t think it played badly at any point last season. The goal posts and markings are in place as there have been various games going on over the last week or so. My grass is growing like mad and I’ve not put any loam down yet!

Yep my grass has gone nuts and all I do is water the thing once a week if there is no rain. I'm sure it's all in hand.

A weak solution of washing up liquid in water... spray your roses with that.
