nevthelodgemoorowl
Easy to draw the rudimentary conclusions of a child, correlating performance against pay. However, you would draw quite a different set of results if there were a player wages deduct applied to injured players. Almost all of our top earners were injured or ill for a significant part of the season. I think this shows how well we got to grips with management and motivation. Leaping Lannys Perm
I believe I am correct in saying that this was from the 2016-17 season. That is certainly where the Newcastle headlines have come from. So we had the tenth highest wage bill in the league and finished fourth. Not bad that. You don’t have your entire first team squad injured at the same time by coincidence do you? the players were clearly not fit and conditioned properly. We can thank Carlos and his pre season holiday camps for that. Clearly we’ve overpaid for average players too. We have a higher wage bill than Wolves and Huddersfield. That’s embarrassing. Hoping with it’s the new set up we can avoid this in future. I agree that Huddersfield did well but we finished over ten places above Wolves that season. Hardly embarrassing. room0035
Shows what a great job dean Smith is doing at Brentford, this does not include the transfer fees he gets in for players, he is very adepth at finding good young players developing them and moving them on for profit but improving the team. it won't be long before he is given a chance with a club with a bigger budget and personally I think he will be another dyche. Mrmason69
We have at least five players on a minimum 50 grand a week. None of those will be leaving for at least one more season. Last season those players in Premier league wages didn't play forty games between them. Our wage bill is higher than many Premier league clubs. Our highest paid players never play or have made up injuries. The wage bill for these five players is over £13 million a year. It works out at least £325000 a match. Those players are some of the highest paid in the world if their pay is divided by appearances. Why did we sign them in the first place? We will never know. Stalag Hillsborough will never tell the truth about what's going on.

Blue n White Rampage
Not bad really, would have been similar to our league position without the injury plague. Norwich though! Surprised that man poo and man shltty are the same. Would have expected man shltty much more than everyone else
Quist
All the clubs higher than us in league table have been in Premiership much more recently which shows we are really trying. With a more balanced recruitment we should be there or abouts in promotion race with that level of finance.

Also Carlos made training too intense , to say it was a holiday camp is not true. Training sessions were expected to be as intense as playing, far too much physical contact and high risk strategy particuarly given players ages. Training routine was from zero to intense, there was no middle ground.
