Butterfield returns to Derby.

Recommended Posts

Obviously am pleased at this news but I can’t fathom how a player can go from being one that scored superb goals for Udders right and left raking passes, direct scary player to being some guy wandering aimlessly around the pitch with a haircut.

Agree that Derby are comparable to us in terms of living with FFP - Rowett sells their best players, loans out others to ease the wage bill, gets to the play offs and half the fans want him out pronto.

Funny old game.

Hope Jos can do similar without peeing everyone off.

What did you talk about on the way?

Never got a chance to speak with him whilst driving TBH mate, all items, be it letters, packages, crates, pallets or in this case people purporting to be footballers have to go in the back of the van, it's a company rule, my employers are quite funny about things like that-no items for delivery are to go in the cab with the driver. I did feel a touch of sympathy for him though as I was loading him until I remembered his performance against Burton and then I just fired him in the back along with the rest of the tripe out for delivery. He spent the entire journey sat on a pallet full of specialist horse manure I was taking to Chatsworth. In fact, I had to drop the manure off on the way back or he wouldn't have had anywhere to sit.God I hate my job.lol

Have to agree, so glad we won’t see him playing for us again. He just looked lost and clueless with no confidence. You could almost feel sorry for him until you realise he’s pinching a living as a championship footballer on 35K a week. Wow.

this could have been a lot worse chaps, imagine if Carlos had signed him permanently on a 3 or 4 year deal on them wages

Bit sad really as with a bit more time and a decent run in the team I think he could have possibly established himself as the beating heart that made Wednesday tick next season.

If Butterfield were the heartbeat of our team, we might need a defibrillator.

It will be look at abdi he’s disappeared who knows what’s happened to him. My theory is he’s been chucked in river don washed away.

I saw a brief glimpse of him during the lap of honour.  Like the Patterson film from the 60s about Bigfoot.

That is a system and role a little too complicated for now so best to stick with a defensive midfielder who simply has to break up play and find the nearest man.

Once promoted we can look at more specialised roles as you've suggested with also some regulators, pacemakers and what all the best current teams have, a rotational purchasegainer who shifts roles between three key positions.

I see you've read Carlos' book, then.
