@owlstalk
Would you say #SWFC need way more pace in the squad or do you think we can do ok without bringing more pacey players in? Owlstalk Shop

Buxtongent
It's pacey THOUGHT and its outcome that we need.

Quist
You can never have enough pace, most areas of team lacking pace. Also short on dynamic players and those with real enrgy so we can maintain high tempo..

joelswfc
Not only has it been a lack of pacey players that’s held us back, but also our style of play is far too slow. Now under Jos it looks like the latter is changing, and if we bring in the players to suit it things will look even better.
striker
Yes, the game is evolving and athleticism becoming more of a required attribute. Teams will be reasonably comfortable watching a team of technical players passing it around in front of them, but frightened to death about being turned and pacey players getting in behind. We have good technical players, blending with some pace in the side will give different options and an outlet for our creative players to be more expressive. Lord Snooty
Speed of thought is the best weapon. If you can get players with that who can do a 5 second 50 yard dash all the better. I'm convinced we'll be seeing some too. Jos' press conference before the last match where he talked about bringing in 'dynamic players' was a nod to it I'm sure. agentwalker
You need a mixture. Look at arsenal, full of technical players with no outstanding pace in attack. Always trying to score the perfect goal. Vardy, pure pace and create a lot of chances
marshy
It's how pace is used that's key. JJ had pace, Helan had pace yet the delivery was more often terrible. As the post above. Vardy us a great example of pace and delivery with an end product.
room0035
Over the years we have had some quality wingers with no pace but the had skill to beat a man, when did you last see Reach, Wallace, Boyd dribble through players Everyone has this hang up with pace. we need a winger who can beat a man, gain a hard and put the cross into an area to score. mark1948
Pace? Pace? He used to play for the Blades. He lived on Bishopscourt Road Norton Lees, I used to deliver his Star and Green Un in 1963 /64.

We don't have to have blistering pace we just need to to turn the ball over quicker in the transitions. Clever players do that, not fast ones. killamarshtrekowl
If you're playing an essentially defensive game (which we do, especially first half). You're pretty much relying on scoring either from a set piece or a counter attack. We have the players to score from a set piece, I don't believe we have enough fast players to score on the counter though.
