Lee Bullen added to the team to play at Hillsborough

Recommended Posts

#SWFC Legend Lee Bullen is the latest addition to the celebrity football match next week at Hillsborough!

On Friday 25 May, the Owls are hosting a special fixture in support of the Ivy-Louise Fund and the Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme.

It was announced last month that stars including Shayne Ward, Calum Best and James Argent will take part in the game, and we can confirm former SWFC captain Bullen will also feature!

Ivy-Louise is just 16-months old and suffering from neuroblastoma, and her family are looking to raise £200,000 for a vaccine trial in America.

The young girl from Ackworth, West Yorkshire, is also being supported by the Bradley Lowery Foundation to aid her cause geared towards receiving the treatment she needs in the USA.

Tickets for the S6 celebrity match are on sale NOW, priced £10 for adults and £5 for concessions.

Supporters can purchase from the Ticket Office or the SWFC online store.

Supporters can also purchase the VIP package for £40, which includes meeting the celebrity players!

Other celebrities taking part in the match include Kerry Katona, Simon Webbe and Anthony Costa from pop group Blue, Locksmith and Kesi from Rudimental and former professional footballer Jamie O’Hara.

Come down to Hillsborough to see the celebs battle it out and support two great causes!

This thread lacks a certain lordship promoting a rather nice footy kit

Very kind!

Funnily enough just mentioned this game in another thread.

Now if I was Wednesdays new marketing executive I'd have been prepping the new kit and shop merchandise months ago ready for the new season and would have combined the release of the new home kit to coincide with the charity match taking place at Hillsborough.

Id have been hammering the teaser  videos showing extreme close ups of the new kit material on social media for weeks. Would have been on YouTube by now. Facebook.  Probably the sound of a heart beat over the top. Lots of fading in and out of black.

Billboards and twitter stills. Poster campaigns all over the city

Close ups of legend faces.

Dooley with the twinkle in his eye.

Shez  grinning.

All with the words "IT. IS. COMING" written underneath.

They'd be all over town. Like a subliminal Derren Brown trick.

Then in the charity game the side led by Bullen would take to the field in the new home kit. The first time anyone had seen the full thing (coming out of the runnel To the John Williams Krypton Theme for added drama )

Anyone buying a ticket for the chairity game gets to buy their new  shirt after the game a full month ahead of general sale using their ticket stub as proof.

Tickets for the game through the roof. More money for charity.   Huge buzz about the kit. Kudos for Wednesday.

The exclusive early sold  Kits then being worn around town by their proud owners creating that buzz for people that want their own.

General sale a month later. Hordes wanting them before they set off on holiday to show them off around the globe. Thousand upon thousand sold enforce the first match of the season.

Job is a good un, as they say.

I have a feeling of deja vu.

Take 2. Does anyone remember the Porridge movie where Fletch and Godber broke out of jail, then broke back in again via the beer cellar of the Prison Warder’s Bar?

Is there a weatherman in the team?
