If #SWFC were promoted to the Premiership

Recommended Posts

I think what happens today and the next couple of games for Swansea will give us a little bit of a vision on how we would have performed if we had got promoted.

The Carlos love-in by the media seems to have died down, they're in bad form and have a winnable game today before taking on two relegation rivals. As a Wednesday fan I'm still none the wiser what to expect from him (apart from going from a charming attacking based manager to a grump who plays negative football).

I believe we would have stayed up and performed far better than Hull and probably Huddersfield, who I'm expecting to go back down, but this metaphorical situation relies on Carlos' approach with swansea, I think we would have been in a similar situation if we were promoted.

I had this conversation yesterday at work.

“How would we have faired in the prem?”

i think we would’ve struggled, I’m thinking we’d be like Brighton

not as bad as Hull / Hudders

but not as good as a Burnley

Brighton are 11th in the table...

Tbh, I think we'd have been relegated had we gone up in 2016.

In saying that, I believe we'd have come back strong in the Championship and got ourselves back up again.

If we got promoted to the Premier, I would buy everyone on here a pint before the last match.

Disclaimer.

This offer is only open for the Season 2017 - 2018

Without a proper pre season we’d have had our arses handed to us on a plate by all 19 clubs in the premier league. Fitness is basic when in charge of a sports team and for some reason it was ignored

I actually disagree. You saw our fitness drop eventually, imagine playing against teams that are better prepared a league high against a team like us that was unfit compared to the opposition.

If we beat hull and got promoted I think we would have come straight back down under cc

Exactly, and it wouldn’t have bothered me one bit either.

The money would set us up nicely for the foreseeable future providing we didn’t buy a load of ageing journeyman on massive wages for long deals that wouldn’t shift if we didn’t go straight back up.

I don't even want to be up there, it's boring.

I just want the parachute money to come back down and thrash everyone.

Rinse, repeat.
