Sheffield Wednesday led a charmed life at the Circle and waltzed away with all the points with their only shot on target, as City's good form was rudely interrupted. Good to know the billions of fans from the Owls (failed to sell their allocation here for the record) are still ignorant as ever, oblivious to the Wembley boycott - and quite why the home stands are still, yes still all these years on, sparsely populated. Ignorance is bliss, right? 

The first half saw the Tigers suffering something of a hangover from their back-to-back 4-0 and 0-5 wins against QPR and Burton respectively. Indeed, it was a bitty affair that lacked cohesion, but the visitors broke the deadlock in the 18th minute courtesy of Rhodes. City struggled to piece together any genuine chances of note during the half, but certainly improved after going behind. The closest the hosts came to scoring, was just before the break, when Hernandez was thwarted at the near post. 

The visitors shut up shop - not that they threatened much in the first half - and sat in for the long haul. City made all the running, but struggled to fashion good goal scoring chances. Hernandez was thwarted again from close range while trying to get a shot off, then fired over from inside the box as the Tigers pressed. Late on, Hernandez saw what would've been a deserved equaliser chalked off by the linesman's flag after much deliberation, while MacDonald missed an absolute sitter at the death when heading wide to level. 

The battle may well be undeservedly lost today, but the relegation war is just about won, all bar the mathematics.

What is it with pathetic little minnows getting bitter about being beat by the likes of us? They should be thankful they get to go to grounds like Hillsborough, The Stadium Right and Villa Park because they are a 3rd division side in every way the tinpot shufflers. Genuinely hope they go out of business.

I love the fact that he has to lie in order to make himself feel better, like claiming we didn’t sell out our allocation when we did or how we only had 1 shot on target while completely forgetting the earlier header from Rhodes that their keeper saved or the one they scrambled off the line in the dying minutes.

Think he must have "boycotted" the match today cos I went and it was nowt like he says...

 

Hull must have had fans "boycotting" the team for years given how s h i t e their fans are. "Worst support we've ever seen". 

 

And even though they may have beaten us at Wembley (they definitely did not see us "crying on Wembley Way"  because they had all f u c k e d off home long before we did - all 18,000 of them) and since then they have got relegated, wasted their premier league money (well wasted as in had it all pocketed by their owners) and it will only be a matter of time before they return to their rightful level in the third tier

 

And I for one will not miss them...

Used to regularly travel over to the east coast to watch my 2nd Mistress Halifax RLFC play F.C. and Rovers. Christ they were rough at the Boulevard and maybe  slightly more civilised at Craven Park. The wimen were the worst, falling out of the Boulevard social club before the match they’d feight any bugger.
