Guest timrud
Why not when you can get paid more money to play in somebody else's reserves, despite claiming it was first team football that was the problem (or was it getting paid as a first teamer despite not being good enough?) We aren’t selling him, his contract is up and he’s chosen to accept a new one elsewhere. A panel of representatives including from the Football League and Premier League will meet to invite representatives of each club to determine the value of Hirst. This is the PFCC panel. Such things as first team appearances, international (U21 and full cap) appearances, how much he cost us, the cost of such things as coaching and education to us, the terms declined in our contract offer to him, and substantive transfer offers etc all will be considered. All in all it won’t be a huge amount of compensation, certainly not £3m etc silly money being banded about. Add ons such as clauses to trigger additional payments if he makes U21 or full international caps, makes first team appearances for his new club etc can be added, often at the detriment of the initial “up front” costs to the new club. They can’t force such daft things as the player to come here on loan into his contract, that is pie in the sky stuff. And all this is only relevant if he moves to one of our domestic clubs, FIFA have a different set of rules and he could well move abroad... Ah cheers didn't know much about how the tribunal works, maybe just a gentleman's agreement then?
matthefish2002
If Man U come in for you 95% would go. Why should George Hirst stop at Wednesday when Chansiri not treated him that well. (George Hirst not blameless either)
CE-Owl
It's never been a hard decision for George or his dad. As soon as they saw his potential, they were looking elsewhere. The Barnsley bloke who had a few good seasons for us - and when his post-player career didnt amount to much, we gave him a job - has stabbed us in the back. Never want to hear about either of them again.

The lad has an opportunity to work under the best coaching teams and academies in the land and his dad wants him to explore those offers and everyone is so mental they can’t see it for that. If you had a child in any profession and they worked for or with you and they came one day and said “dad I’ve had a job offer from one of the best companies in my industry” would you do all you could to make it happen? Course you would. Take off the blue goggles.
CE-Owl
Ive got no problem with him going to Man United. Good luck to him. But the manner in which each side has approached this for the past 18 month is disgusting. Egos and greed, with SWFC put 2nd constantly.
