Have decided to do a live thing from Wednesday Tap tonight

Thought we'd go down, set up camp and check the place out properly including answering any questions that you (as a customer of the place) might have.

The place is thriving now (as our resident Owlstalker @ANDY has testified during his live broadcasts from here on matchdays), and has events as well as drinks, food, and other things to keep you entertained and happy.

First beer of the day is a Birra Moretti and it's tasting great. Ice cold, strong and chunky and a good start to an Owlstalk live here.

So.... let's have your questions and I'll ask Simon (who's looking after the place tonight) and get your answers..

The Wednesday Tap Speedtest Internet.jpg

First up FREE WIFI (no login or registration needed)

You just nip in and choose 'Wednesday Tap' Wifi and you're logged on

The best news is the speeds are fantastic (I went to Sheffield Tap this morning and got 4 meg download and 0.5 upload)

The download speed at The Wednesday Tap is nearly 9 meg!! Lightning fast

Same with upload speeds with 4.5meg upload speed which is really fantastic and very useful to me right now as I sit at my Owlstalk Live table blogging live for you

So Wednesday Tap WINS in terms of free wifi!!!

Do they so food on match day cos last home game they didn't.

Food is served AFTER the match on matchdays

The place is just so mad busy that it's just impossible to serve food before it and get it to your safely and without any accidents or issues

The price of success I guess!

I'm waiting for 5pm tonight to sample the menu

Are you drinking gin ?

No

I think it tastes like Vinegar mixed with a touch of regret

People who drink gin always seem to me to be hollow inside and seeking that special thing to keep them wanting to keep going in life

That must be why I'm drinking more.

Trying to fill the hollow inside.

KIDS (under 18's)

Children are allowed in AFTER home matches (before matches it's just too bonkers/busy to be fair)

Kids are also allowed in up to 9pm any other day of the week (so midweek from 5pm to 9pm) if they want to come down with responsible adults, so are free to come down for a burger etc with their mums if they want

Midweek games - not allowed in before the match (same reason - too busy and bonkers) and obviously it would be after 9pm after the game has finished so not allowed in after midweek games (but then again who wants their kids in pubs at 10pm at night on a midweek?).

Easiest way to remember is these three points

  • Allowed in till 9pm
  • Not allowed in BEFORE home games
  • Can go in AFTER Saturday matchdays

Is it as good as the New Barrack Tavern?

There's less people offering you outside for a feyt that's for sure

So far I'm finding it ace

Good beers, staff are excellent, Sky Sports on big TV and food from 5pm

What's not to love?

I'm on a high table at the side of the venue on a nice comfy high stool

Think there's a gin night on tonight
