torryowl
average wage in 1981 was circa 7k so a season at 50 quid is if my math is right (doubtful) around 0.8% average wage 2017 was circa 27k so my season ticket at 550 quid ......is around a tad over 2% ............sadly my pension is a lot nearer 81 levels than 2017 . I know other clubs are the same but not something we can be proud of.
Guest Hillsborough Mole
But weve only made them so expensive to rip off the away fans.
WAWAW
Gone up about same rate as beer. Plus pay on day prices were as cheap as a season ticket.

I agree with your maths. It is expensive at the moment. Had they delivered arguably a bargain. Given the season we have had, a waste of money. simpark
Cost of entertainment/sports tickets in general has gone through the roof Weekend ticket for Reading Festival in 1981, for example, was £14.50 - equivalent of £53 today. This year they are £205 (+£16 booking fee, which is another modern rip off)

Lombardo
I used to pay 65p to get on the kop, but may have been late 70’s
cross owl
So we were paying more than half the top tier teams prices back then too . Least were consistent Plus in 81 I was still at school so paying more for a ticket than I earned so in comparison they are dirt cheap now Edited March 27, 2018 by cross owl

MaliceInBlunderland
Hahaha Pigs season ticket more expensive than OVER HALF the clubs in the top division, despite (I'm pretty sure) this being the season they ended up being relegated to the 4th division. Not quite value for money then?
Baldrick
Can’t believe we were 20p more expensive than Aldershot to stand on the Kop
