That's a really sensationalist uninformed point of view,do you know why we chose not to keep Vardy or why no other professional club came in for him.

Cantona was something different altogether.

Yes. We came to the conclusion he was too lightweight and small to be a productive forward. Short sightedness by the club as was the "We haven't seen him play on grass yet". We do not know whether GH will perform well at championship level but the signs are good and sometimes you have to take a gamble which is the point with Vardy and Cantona.

That's  not why Vardy was released, ask around a bit.

I do see you point, but think the club would say they are taking a gamble by offering him a very good contract , possibly the best contract a player of his age has ever been offered by the club

unless of course we’re all assuming the chairman is a liar

There were other reasons he left.

Jamie Vardy was released because (and he admits this himself in his book) he thought he was always going to get the deal and took his eye off the ball. This is why he ended up playing non league football. Hirst is in an entirely different situation.

Vardy was released because the was a naughty 16 yesr old, hung around with the OCS and bad boys.

Fair play to him. He sacked that off out in hard work and look at him. Had we not released him, I highly doubt he'd be the same player as he is now.
