Right! On to the business end. It is November 1935, the mighty Wednesday are being eagerly awaited by young Nigel, thumbing through his match day programme. As usual the Owls are in their traditional kit, along with dark blue shorts...

 

...as they run out to the cheering mob something is different, something is odd, something is... WHITE!

 

 

What is this?! Exclaims young Nigel, grabbing hold of his old mans hand to give it a tug, nearly burning himself on a half smoked woodbine. Nigel’s dad lifts his gaze from the young Owlette in her risqué wooden sweater and as his unbelieving eyes spot the abomination of white shorts he spits a gob full of mild all down the back of the neck of his mate in front.

 

WHITE SHORTS?!
