Looks like the 5-4 game..what a day that was.

Not sure; looks a bit murky and I remember a bright sunny day..... perhaps it was just my spirits after the game though. Possibly photo quality issue too.

Yes . I’m sure it’s the 5-4 in 1968.

Whitham scored after 2 mins. You can just see 1-0 scorer number 11 on the scoreboard.

The picture is of Best equalising about 10 mins later.

Anyone who was there will tell you it’s the best match they’ve ever seen.

Yes definitely that. I realised I’d got the wrong match when somebody pointed out Crerand . Whitham would have been 10 not 11. Sorry guys.

Without checking the record books, I'm sure you will be right.

In the 5-4 win, they were 4-2 up at half time on a sunny day, scoring their four at the Kop end.

This goal has been scored at Leppings lane end.

It's as legendaryswan says, the 1-1 game 16 September '67

Incidentally, for the 5-4 game the following season, all ManU's goals were scored at the kop end

*edit - Lincs Owl beat me to it there

Is F on the scoreboard reporting United being tonked 5-2? Oh, I hope so.

To add to other comments, the 5-4 was a gloriously sunny day (in more ways than one) so I am leaning towards the 1-1, especially as the 'minutes played' shows the game is in the second half and the 5-4 had more goals in the first half. And yes, definitely Sam Ellis.
