If anyone is going to the meeting tomorrow can they ask him why he is doing this so we know all the facts please .

My guess. Someone's pointed out that by preventing him from playing at any level will only decrease his stock. Play him in U23, get him scoring again and his value could be back at £2m. He's worth diddly squat sat on the settee.

You’re not getting it.  I couldn’t give a monkeys about he said / she said, who wants what, and who doesn’t want to pay it. It’s about stopping a player playing football over signing or not signing a new contract. Pathetic.

Mate you ain't got it, never mind getting it.

You said it was speculation what was said, I pointed out it wasn't.

I think it's safe to assume if  the club arnt telling us what social events they have planned they certainly arnt going to reveal why hirst isn't allowed to play ......it must be a thai cultural thing that chansiri keeps most things to himself .

My apologies if I have missed that someone has already said this, but it seems to me that the most significant thing about the managers statement is that he is embarrassing his CEO and his Chairman. While people may praise him for being honest with the supporters, honesty is not a good policy if you are an employee, and you have information to reveal that puts the people who sign your pay slip in a bad light--unless you are looking to get fired, or looking to put pressure on them.

Forestieri sulked and refused to play for us over a contract dispute, got dropped for a couple of games and was then brought back into the team and was later rewarded with an improved contract.

Yet when a youngster gets into a contract dispute he's excluded for several months.

Complete double standards.  Attitude seems to be that we can bully youngsters into signing.

Regardless of how the problem started or whose fault it was, I wouldn't sign now if I was Hirst after being treat like this.

Jos has reputation for not taking BS from the board.  He walked out of his last job due to disagreements / interference??

Got to be something to do with a appearance in the first teams means he is payed money. nothing else makes sense. not even that does, not like he is going to be on a million pound bonus with his next first team appearance probably be about 25 grand.

I've not read the whole thread so maybe someone has mentioned this before....

Maybe Hirst is refusing to play for the first team unless he gets the contract he wants or at least a big bonus.

I've no idea if this is true but people seem eager to blame Chansiri for the problem, all I'm saying is it could be a problem from the other side.

What a farce.

Whether George Hirst is the second coming is beside the point.

Our owner is for all intents and purposes meddling in first-team affairs; preventing his head coach (who needs all the help he can get) from picking a striker who may help us get to safety.

If he's willing to do that, then is it so far-fetched to think that certain first players are being prevented for contractual reasons?

The argument over whether or not he’s worth X or Y is completely irrelevant while ever he’s not playing football.

A proper chairman would’ve left the offer on the table and said “prove to me before January that you’re worth what you’re asking for, and we’ll talk again.”

If he hasn’t played for the first team the argument that he isn’t worth what he wants is equally as strong as the argument that he is worth it.

Absolutely shambolic handling of the situation.

Absolute rubbish.

Complete lies.

Hirst has already played for the first team under his current contract. Unless that contract has had a variation then he can still play. Any contract variation must be agreed by all parties covered by the original contract.

That is basic law.

So. Unless both the club and Hirst have agreed a variation then why is he banned

If there was a variation instigated by Hirst then Wednesday did not have to agree with it and the original contract stands. And vice versa.

The legal definition of a contract is that is an agreement between two or more parties..

So why has Hirst been banned.

What, if any variations have been added to the existing contract

Basic questions we will never get answers to.

It's still my contention that Wednesday are refusing to play Hirst just to prove they are the boss.

Wednesday are as bent and corrupt as they come. If the truth came out about what really goes on there they'd be thrown out of the league

Hirst cannot refuse to play as that's breach of contract. It would also be career suicide at his age.

However, Wednesday are perfectly within their legal rights not to play him

But when the owner of the club orders the manager not to play him in the first team ,but he is allowed to play in the u23`s , that is when you know the whole situation within the club is wrong. The chairman/owner should keep his nose out of team selection,
