The Ipswich Free Kick Goal

Recommended Posts

That was a fantastic strike from Waghorn, no doubt Wildsmith should've saved it. Wildsmith is the least of our problems at the minute.

What last night pointed out again was the difference in quality of the set plays - Ipswich's deliveries were absolutely tremendous, with the corners right underneath the cross bar delivered with ferocious pace, Nuhiu saved us numerous times. Compare that and Waghorn's great strike to when we got a free kick in a dangerous area. Reach decides to shoot and slices it well wide, horrendous.

We also give away too many free kicks. We are the densest team I have ever witnessed when defending our own final third, we fall into every trap going when conceding dangerous fouls around the box. After that it is always only a matter of time.

In that middle picture, the ball appears to be near enough directly above the goalkeeper... a mere 6 feet above him.

To those saying he should have dived, you do realise we don't have the King of the Rocket Men in goal right? Yes, maybe his footwork was too slow, but by this point, it was much too late.
