Sheffield Wednesday midfielder James Murphy has left the Owls to sign for Los Angeles FC.

The move was confirmed by both LAFC and Murphy in the early hours of Saturday on social media.

Murphy, who made only one first team appearance for Wednesday, in a League Cup defeat against Cambridge United in August 2016, wrote on Instagram: "Happy to finally announce I’ve signed for @lafc ! Proud to be Black & Gold and can’t wait to play in front of the supporters!"

New Jersey-native James Murphy has signed with #LAFC after most recently playing for English Championship side Sheffield Wednesday. His brother, John, currently plays for Red Bull II. #MLS

James Murphy signed for Sheffield Wednesday in July 2016 on a three year contract in a dated office in front of a load of mucky plug sockets

I can't remember anything about his performance either.

Thought O'Grady looked OK that night though.

Yep, can remember O'Grady looking decent, young Hirsty looking a bit lightweight,  Murphy? Nothing.
