Is the match on? Here’s the info

Recommended Posts

The match is currently ON

Here’s the situatiom in Bristol

Main roads are clear to the ground. side roads are not.

The weather has changed from snow to freezing rain

Avon and Somerset Police have advised people not to travel

Buses are trying to get some services running but it’s clear they won’t be able to get a full service

For Bristol City fans many won’t be able to get to the game and if they can may not risk it in case they can’t get back

Bristol city are clearly desperate to make this game happen as they sniff three points on the pitch if they play us right now

The question is will enough stadium staff be able to make it in? (Stewards and catering etc)

The irony of course is if Wednesday did this, were desperate to get a game on that we would lose 3-0.

Historically the only time I remember this was the FA Cup v Arsenal in 79

To give some perspective the Hull v Warrington rugby league went ahead despite the M62 being shut and their supporters coaches not running.

Police advising not to travel but yet bcfc expecting us to travel 7 hour round trip. Setting off in 5 mins leave plenty of time. Car got duvets and lots of food just incase. Stay safe every1

It's absolutely ridiculous.

They've obviously sold loads of tickets and don't want to cover the costs if refunds.

It's not that

It's that they know we have the first team out, are playing Under23's and are in shocking form

They need the three points and are desperate to play this game right now whilst we're in such vulnerable state

Not sure how this works in terms of the final say. Clearly BC are responsible for safety inside the ground and will have risk assessed the situation, as SUFC said they did on Thursday.

Outside the ground would be several agencies, including the council highways, transport and police. Interestingly, the SUFC rep also said on Thursday that the EFL have a say. If so, how can they possible not side with the statutory agencies over the club?
