Surely has to be BC. Loads of other games have been called off already in seemingly lesser conditions.

sheff utd burton called off Thursday ,yet all our roads are clear Friday and even side roads now are not that bad I think they rushed there decision , think there is more snow Bristol way on the ground .the forecast don t look bad down there 3c and dry so the game will be going ahead 100%.

This is reyt dodgy....needs some balls but tell em we ain't coming, cos the Met Office says don't travel. They have a duty for safety of fans as well as the team.

Who is responsible for the decision, the ref or BC?

It used to be the red but that was before health and safety got involved.

Not forecast to get up to 3c until lunchtime though - it'd still take hours for all that snow to melt

Just for balance ........ coach full left Rawson Spring at 1pm and arrived Holiday Inn, Ashton Gate 3:50pm . Roads clear all the way down albeit very little traffic .

No public transport atm but conditions nowhere near as bad as Sheffield , all roads clear but pavements snow covered !

I work in that area (insurance) and it's not true.

Imagine your car is parked up in a red warning area and heavy ice falls on the car roof and damages it. No insurance because you are in a red area? No way.

The only chance an insurer would have to partially negate your claim is to prove contributory negligence, which would mean you've done something really stupid to help cause the accident. Even if the insurer was successful, which is unlikely, they would still have to deal with any 3rd party claim.

Imagine Aviva turning down all claims in a red warning area, we'ed all be queuing up to take out their policies wouldn't we.

The only way the insurer would stand a chance is a state of national emergency where it was mandatory not to take a car on the road. I don't remember the last time that happened.

Remember the riots circa 2010? It was declared civil disobedience, which in a car insurance policy does not cover you for damage to your car. All insurers paid out for damage to cars during that time. It's not worth ther reputation not to.

The stuff in the press about your insurance being invalid is lazy journalism at best (scaremongering)

I think it was mainly on social media. Someone from the insurance governing body said it was not true, agreeing with you.

They must have been going above the speed limit then as AA have it as a 3 hour 15 minute journey.
