Any armed forces/sericemen on here?

RE 86-90

UK based, Wiltshire, so got to as many as i could. Hire car in thick fog mid week springs to mind as me and a scouser let off early to drive to Liverpool for us v everton.

Travel wise missed out on a six month Canada deployment az was on a course in Chatam. Girls there kind of made up for it.

We were engineering support for RAF Bruggen in Germany so had to do 3 months out there. Saw Monchengladbach(sp) v Hamburg. Stood on away end with a few other squadies. We Hamburg lost think it was 7-2

Did a rapid re-deployment to Falklands. RAF Tornado escort in was amazing. Flying upside down holding up a sign show us your bum. They must have been so bored prior to our arrival.

I made news at ten, everyone walking from plane arms in hand. Me, had a gun, but also a white naafi carrier bag full of duty free from Ascention Islands.

My Sons football coach just recieved his commision and his weekly Sunday hangover is a testiment to the cheap booze prices at Gibraltar Barracks' Sergents/ Officers Mess.

The SWO at Gib is probably still trying to track me down from a little 1989 incident which severely spoiled his lovely white painted mess building, add to that the bust door... oops lol

Thankfully I left on an aircraft that very next morning

Cheers! We appreciate the hard working public who (like us) graft to pay taxes.

Is rewarding and diverse-had lads out all night around Lincolnshire helping elderly people to hospital last night. Worked on a bit of self help on base today insulating some dog kennels.

They were much appreciated here in Lincs mate, I can tell you.

Remember getting ready to go parachuting and getting locked in a room by the RAF whilst they watched the England Argies game where Beckham got sent off. They then cancelled the sortie after the match! One of the lads got his own back the following week as he punched a full sick bag into the chest of the RAF jump instructor as he went out of the door.

Knew a few of the PJI's at Brize well....  ha ha ha.... tell your mate i'll buy him a beer.  lol
Crazy world...One of em though, knew Lewis Collins ( he was seeing his sister ) who turned up while I was at his house one day, he'd been visiting PTS for some reason and was a cracking fella.

I was like, wtf.

he

was a good bloke in real life, helped me loads with my lad and his ptsd also set up a unit for helping many others suffering the same  , yes he was outspoken on here and did go over the top at times , but the man had a heart of gold and by my book did not deserve a ban on that footing alone ,

He implied everyone else in here who are in the armed forces were making it up. More than a couple of things he said were OTT.
