SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY - ACCOUNTS AND FFP THREAD

One interesting bit at the bottom of page 28 - massive increase in potential bonuses and singing on fees (from 2.3m to 7.4m) indicates that the club signed a lot of contracts with either promotion clauses or loyalty clauses. Promotion we don't have to worry about, but if any of those loyalty clauses triggered over the course of this season then the accounts could get worse

Don’t be silly. They are all injured...

Aren't we allowed a £13m loss per season? Meaning we're well within those figures.

£39 million over a 3 year period. So over the the last 2 years we've made a loss of £30.5 million meaning that any loss greater than £8.5 million for this season & it's embargo time.

Nobody of note has left. Rhodes, Boyd, Van Aken, Pelupessy have come in. The first two are on huge wages, and there's Rhodes and Van Aken's transfer fees to pay as well.

Without selling 1 or 2 big earners for big bucks there's no way we'll keep within the £39m over 3 years limit.

Three of which will be reported on in next years returns.

Huge losses, surely on the verge of breaking FFP rules, expensive signings that gambled on promotion, and in the majority of cases, the players we have recruited in the last three years don’t have much re-sale value.

We have a relegation battle to fight with half of our squad, and the majority of our first choice XI unavailable for the foreseeable future.

It looks like, going forward, we could be in deep trouble.  The club is being ran appallingly IMO.

So basically all we have to do is throw zillions at getting promoted next season, so that we can become established in the Premier League and then do a Leicester and pay a miniscule fraction of our income in a few years time to make any FFP trouble go away.

They are spread over the lifetime of the contract.

Also not all losses count for FFP.

But that's only things like development squad and charities which rarely exceeds £500K

@mkowl can you summarise just how fizzed we are?

Wow probably worse than I expected having seen them. The good news is that the auditor has signed them off - just

Waiting for somebody who is clued up on all this to break it down...

I mean most clubs make losses right?

Basically we have to forecast less than 9 million in losses this year.

Can someone who knows their stuff and isn't some kind of mad nutter with an agenda give us a basic breakdown of what is in these?

I could but might breach the nutter bit
