GEORGE HIRST SCORES ON RETURN TO SWFC TEAM!!

Recommended Posts

Was hopeful that his return meant that a resolution to his contract issue was possible - apparently not.

Jos has forced a u-turn on the decision to freeze him out as we're desperate for strikers, but it's only a short term (til end of season) fix.

More hopeful on Clare but still not convinced

Thought that might be the case.

Do you think that if he has a few really good games with the first team the situation may change, or do you think he is now set on going to a prem club ?

Really is a shame that Kivo. Reckon if he gets a chance with the first team and does well we may get a new contract sorted? Then again i dont think i want to see him in the first team and do really well just for him to leave us at the end of the season. :-(

Thing with Clare is. How good a deal will he get elsewhere compared to us....?

Hirst i can understand.

Typical Wednesday. Get a decent young striking prospect for the first time in years and it looks like they’re going to lose him. Whatever your view on who’s to blame I can’t see why the lad hasn’t been allowed to play this season. Contract disputes are what they are but surely while under contract players should be allowed to play as we’re still paying their wages.

We have no idea what will happen with Clare because some people said he was frozen out. Only to play the next game.

One step at a time , at least we have him playing again and scoring , I never thought we would , not for us anyway , it’s a real bonus regardless of the future , if he is playing there must be some hope .

From match report:

And it was Cibicki who took his chances early, netting twice in the opening two minutes to give Leeds the early advantage.

But Wednesday immediately struck back, with Almen Abdi pulling one back with just five minutes on the clock.

An equaliser eventually came after the break, when the impressive George Hirst netted to level the match, but Leeds' Adrian Balboa netted at the death, with Leeds able to hang on and take all three points.

First game back for George Hirst and he's already won a penalty that we converted and scored a great goal to equalise against Leeds

All despite having 6 players on him every time he got the ball played to him

WELL DONE GEORGE

There is only one defender marking him in this picture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a counter attack mate and a reyt top through ball

He was off like a shot to score that one

Every other time he was immediately surrounded by five or six players every time he went near the ball

He's hardly the second coming of Messi, I don't get the whole palaver around him. If he doesn't want to be here then get rid, rather give someone else a chance.

Won a penalty

Scored a goal

Played excellently

Ran his socks off

All after 7 or 8 months out
