This press conference has got me very angry

what jos needs to do, is putting all carlos' failings correct, and he's on with that now, but when it takes 12/18 months to take something apart we can hardy expect it to be rebuilt in 2 months.

Not a gripe at you... just reiterating:

Jos hasn't even been here 2 months yet FFS. How anyone can come to any sort of conclusion about him is baffling.

What Carlos did, for the most part successfully, is find a way of winning games with the resources he had That’s now what Jos needs to start doing

Hey, look around, the world has changed, Championship clubs are now spending crazy money

i'm not comparing his spending against other clubs, i'm comparing it against other wednesday managers.

you state 'resources he had' like he'd been scraping the barrel, whilst in honesty the club was at the FFP limit, he'd had a kings ransom in comparison to laws and co, and half the players hadn't kicked a ball twice in the first team.

I'm with you but IMO we CAN make some positive judgements if only in terms of fitness, prudent injury management and blooding of youngsters.

You can't come to any real conclusion about Jos yet. Even his style of play could change dramatically once he has a fully fit squad and maybe a few of his own players thrown in as well.

the 'conclusion' is that any competent person stepping into this mess has to correct the previous regimes failings first, IF one of those failings is total lack of fitness and a first team squad with above a 50% injury list.

They are it's crazy as you say. My long standing gripe with Carlos had long been though the inefficiency of his usage of the resources that he did have.

What is even more crazy, is the man at the top, sanctioning a deal for a complete flop, just because our stuck in the past fans were clamouring for him Worse than that, by doing so, jeopardising our place in the second tier That has as much to do with our situation as anything Had we not been up to the wire with FFP, Jos could have had 4 or 5 new (super fit) players to help him through this crisis If we have to point fingers, at least point them in the right direction

Yeah Carlos's fitness regimes may have been a little relaxed, but are Jos's to intense. Is this why the injured players keep breaking down again and having set backs if he trying to effectively make them run before they can walk.

We don't really know if people are breaking down . Some have assumed that a setback equals back to square one or worse. It might just be that a twinge has been felt so best to be prudent and scale things back. This might mean a frustrating retardation of 2 or 3 weeks but better than previous situations like apparently with Hutch, Lee's, Lee, Bannan and even FF maybe.

Don't forget that Carlos always always insisted that he ultimately selected the players. DC sanctioned the financials and ultimately the deal therefore.

yes dc must take some of the responsibility, but it's HIS money, and he has every right to spend it as he wishes.

we know full well he had little or no experience of running a football club when he arrived, so how was he to know the 'professional' he had appointed to handle that side of the club hadn't got the players fully fit? we owlstalkers have far more games under our belts than dc, yet how many threads were consistently appearing on here about lack of fitness?

Dunno what's gone on. but our injury situation seems to be getting worse not better.

Why is this??

Bad luck... or was Jos so unhappy with the how fit the players were that he has almost put them all on a pre season fitness regime that none have been used to in pre season let alone mid way through a season and now we are seeing the effects of that.

Out of public view I suspect it's getting better. Jos has stated that players will not be rushed back. I believe that this is undoubtedly the best course. Frustrating for us and brave of Jos.

Bannan, Hutch, Hooper, Lees don't sound far away. Some had written off a couple of those for the season.

When he says they have had set backs perhaps he just means they ain't at the fitness levels he requires yet.

We can only analyse the games/players/tactics/opponents on a game to game basis as it's what football fans do.

Owlstalk would be pretty boring if we didn't:luhukay:

Possibly. I think that Jos is determined to change past practices which he sees as fundamental to where we currently are.

The long and the short of it is, there are a whole myriad of reasons we find ourselves where we are, some of them undoubtably down to Carlos My issue is the thread, we can carry on pointing fingers, and picking things apart, but better to look ahead

As others have said, we are not going to solve these problems overnight If Jos is not happy with the fitness levels, there’s not an awful lot he can do about it now, that can come later Our first priority needs to be avoiding the drop, so getting wins under our belt is a must, starting on Saturday
