Brought Joao on 10-15 mins too late; but hard to conclude he got it wrong.

I don’t think he got it wrong at all.

Hes probably looked at the fixtures and thought that we HAVE to get something off Millwall...probably a win.

Because after that we’ve got three really tough league games. Throw in the fact we didn’t play in the league yesterday and you can imagine a situation where we would be really under pressure very quickly.

So he picked a side he felt was able to get a result against Swansea without risking the player who is probably going to play the key role against Millwall - it so nearly worked perfectly.

Ill bet you any money that if we beat Millwall and results go our way over the next two games João will start against Swansea as we have a little more breathing space.

Anyone who thinks he dropped a ball is clearly one of the people that believes managers when they say they don’t look at the league table / form table / take it one game at a time...

Of course, you have to focus on your next opponent the most, but it’s negligent to disregard what’s coming at you in the near future - basic leadership / resource management

I miss the Neg.

For me., this OP is a perfect example of why it's still needed. It seem's anyone that agree's with the statement can simply upvote it but anyone that disagree's has to either get into a dialogue or turn a blind eye to it. Please reconsider.......lol

We made a mistake by allowing all players that were out on loan to play in earlier rounds, something most clubs don't allow, us too usually.

It restricted us to what options were available yesterday.

This I completely agree with however those lads would be nowhere near the first team with Carlos still in charge and he's most likely the one who allowed that.

He preferred to play players that were only 70% fit like Hutchinson than give players like Sean Clare a chance.

Missed opportunity to keep the dream alive.............Championship results were in our favour today.....we got a heads-up by beating Derby.......should have gone for it IMO

How did he know results were going to go in our favour ?

By beating Derby "early" we were given a 3 points lead on others.............the worst position if all the others had won  would have been status quo but another game gone.....was likely some of the others would drop points looking at the fixtures.........so worth the risk IMO

Could not take a chance on playing Joao. He's too important. Only fit and mobile striker who can beat a man and score a goal. He will be enjoying being protected as an asset.

surely Joao should be rested for league games and play in the cups as thats more important this season.

Perfect to win replay as Swans' heart won't bew in it , especially if they lose games before.

Would be great to see Joao against EPL team gain, after Arsenal.

Also a chance to shine and improve his monetary and playing value to others , ditto other players,

And Kane at Hillsborogh would be great
