Winger talks Lucas Joao

Recommended Posts

“He’s a nightmare in training, you can’t get the ball off him
He's (got)  big legs, and he’s got unbelievable feet and the only surprise I’ve had since I’ve come here is that he’s not played more - especially under Carlos, but he’s a quality player and showing that at the minute."

George Boyd

Not half.

Both him and Reach referring to him as "Carlos".

Hoping the players are geed up for this one. Certainly seems that way.

I am wrong for wanting to win.

WTF:

Don't care how.

Just get into the next round and let's get back to Wembley.

I said exactly the same this morning when I read the report. That's the second time Boyd has called Carlos out since he left. He also said how unfit the players were under him.

It’s not too late for Joao to take another step in his career if he can find confidence and consistency. Vardy made his debut in the football league when he was 25?

Anyway hopefully Jos will be able to manage Joao to get the best out of him which could be a very high level for the championship

FFS they are professional footballers, if they  think subjectively they are not fit enough, Go to the library and look for a fitness book lol

All about the performance for me this weekend rather than the result.

Of course I'd love a cup run. But more than that I want to see us challenging every 50/50 with 100% commitment. Winning the second balls and being sharp to the bounce.  Want to see them (as Zico often said) busting a gut out there.

If we get another Derby performance.  Even if we don't get through I'll be happy.

This massively. If we see the team fighting for us then we’ll be content. If we don’t get the result so be it, as long as we know they left nothing in that dressing room we can’t ask for more than that.

Abdi just needs to make the starting XI and bang a couple in

Carlos was very particular and never wanted to take a risk and try new/youth players until he decided they were up to it.

Luhukay's been forced into it at the moment, but you get the impression he's not as particular.

Joao's looking more poised and showing that he's making good on his potential.

I'm still not convinced this Abdi character actually exists.

At the end of his time no fker did.

Should have been gone in the summer with his head held high and saying I tried but just couldn't make it

Maybe Jos replacing Carlos could be like Big Ron replacing Wilkinson/Eustace for Joao. Hirsty never had a proper chance until Big Ron came. I remember a game under Eustace where Hirsty was on the bench while Eustace played Mel Sterland as a lone front man.

If Joao turns out to be half as dangerous as Hirst we might be ok next season.

I would have thought as his manager he should have conducted some discussions about his injury

. "When do you feel you will be able to return to work?" ..."Two weeks boss".

"Are there any adjustments that would help your return to go smoothly?" ..."Play me at the tip of a diamond boss"

"George I don't think you'll be back until I've ....err I mean Xmas has gone ...January"
