That being the case why did he not leave in the January window? I don't even recall seeing any stories of him being linked to other clubs. Given the earlier interest from Leicester and Everton why didn't they come back as surely they will have been aware of his current situation? Maybe but you'd think he'd be desperate to leave just to be able to play football again. No guarantee what a ttibunal fee would be so would it make that much difference. But at the same time you can't really blame him for wanting to "fill his boots" (probably through bad advice??) It's certainly going to be an interesting one to monitor for the future.
