Carlos Carvalhal "I wasn't sacked. We had problems"

Carlos you were told it wasn't working (1 year too late), and politely asked to leave.

You may blag the Welshies for 6 months before you show your true colours.  You may have blagged us with your Doyen buddies once. You aren't blagging us again.

He wasn't sacked or asked to leave

carlos did ok for 2 seasons and this season he aint so he  left .....all managers leave sooner or later , I don't understand the hatred of some on here for him . I've seen some pretty crap managers ( and a couple worse than crap )here but never felt hatred for them . ...whats carlos done wrong  that gets him so much vilification ?

So everything’s fine then? Wake up

I wouldn't waste your time. Just comes on here to tell us we are all snowflakes ( where has that stupid expression come from?) and that everything is fine.

Despite our current run of 1 win in 14 games, loads of players out injured with no apparent timescales for coming back, Finlux believes that all is well.

At least Daveyboy will sometimes admit there might be a slight issue with how things are going....

I honestly don't understand the vitriol....The majority of owls fans said his time had come..So he went.

We can go on forever about who bought who, who trained who, who fell out with who..But the plain fact is..We dunno..really..we actually don't know apart from vague rumours of what a mates mate said to mates f.ookin' dog.

If that all comes out and it boils down to Carlos?..fair comment...but we don't actually know....

The major f.ook ups have been mainly done at a higher level haven't they?

Doyens a ghost in the sodding corner that none of us knows owt about....

Carlos goes to Swansea..and funnily enough does ever so well.....and we get upset about it?

WE wanted him out...he's gone, not with a bad word for us....but more or less saying he is "Always an Owl" always has an affinity with the club...Yea it went T *ts...but lets be honest how many times has that happened since 1867?

The bloke gave us 2 decent seasons out of 3....Was it him that spaffed the cash?...dunno...but it wasn't him that ditched the stripes, changed the badge and charged the sodding prices was it?

I'll applaud him....Ive seen many managers that did far worse....

Same here. His first season here will live long in the memory, playing brilliant football, the place was buzzing and everyone was together as one.

Fair enough it ran its course as most managers do. But the abuse I have read directed towards him or about him on here and twitter is laughable and ridiculous. Not to mention the complete cluelessness and things he gets the blame for. Carlos put up with a hell of a lot when he was here, a hell of a lot. Maybe one day he will tell he full story about his time here, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

He put us through a lot.

What was with the maddening, inexplicable switch in tempo between s1 and s2 of his reign?

You're allowed a certain spend within a three year period, we're close to that now, we can spend again, obviously that's entirely at the discretion of DC as to how much but we can spend.

The March 2018 P&S assessment is based on accounts from 2015-16 and 2016-17, plus a projection for 2017-18.

Thereafter it rolls forwards a year so:

The March 2019 P&S assessment will be based on accounts from 2016-17 and 2017-18, plus a projection for 2018-19.

And so on, for ever and ever....You never escape your past

What a load of rubbish

Just because something doesn’t fit your agenda doesn’t mean it’s rubbish mate.

Open your eyes for God’s sake. The Carlos era had ran its course yes, but most people don’t know the half of what he had to put up with.

This has been done to death to be honest, but do you think the rest of the league may have wised up to how we play after the first season? There was a notable change in our tempo and style because the majority of teams changed THEIR tempo and style to combat us. Anyone with half a brain saw how teams were coming to Hillsborough not to play to our strengths and openly attack us, but look to press, stifle and frustrate us.

Now you could maybe point the finger and say he didn’t have a plan B to get around that, but to imply he just woke up one morning and thought “hang on, I might just swap this successful attractive style of play for something a bit slower and more turgid” is ridiculous.

Was the turgidity working, is what you should ask yourself.

If you think the answer to Hull's stifling midfield full of men against boys was to slow down and put even more pressure on a creaky backline that was put through the proverbial ringer already, well,  that's just a serious misreading of the situation.

Why the change?  Injuries didn't ravage us yet.  What happened

But just what we're those problems?

  • Scattergun transfer policy which mean we never signed a striker capable of doing 100m in less than two minutes?
  • FFP?
  • Or pesky fans questioning why they were paying top dollar for second division football with the attacking intent of a 1960s Italian Catenaccio?
  • Referees?
  • The whole of the squad being cripples?
  • Doyen
  • Not enough shirts to go around

What problems Damn it! What problems!

From last night it appears the problem was Carlos kept telling the players to move the ball quickly down the wings, and the team blatantly refused in the hope he would be sacked

Certainly two very different methods of operation between the last two years at S6 and what we have seen with his new club.

There was clearly  something going on.
