oldishowl
People keep referring to tactics in the Huddersfield Home leg when the issue was Carlos selected a team where at least 6 if not more were carrying injuries or were nowhere near back to full fitness . Most of them played , or tried to play, 2 high intensity games in 4 days and didn’t have the energy to get out of our own half We are seeing the repercussions of this now. FF, Fletcher both selected with serious knee problems when we had Rhodes and Winnall on the bench. Lee, Lees, Hutch, Wallace all playing with injuries. Pudil obviously not back to full fitness. It was ironic that Wallace lasted 5 mins which meant we had used all our subs and a cream crackered Pudil had to stay on and got skinned for the goal. A lot of the players have never recovered from the stupidity of Carlos in playing them and we are seeing the results now.

Think once they played a certain number of games they were automatically entitled to another years contract. But at the time people knew this was the case the club did not claim they players were injured at all.
Sonny
I remember during the miners strike they were always going for a run on one of those fancy anti gravity treadmill things. It’s typical really.

It's now February and we need to have a look at what's going on. The full first team out is not just worrying but it begs a lot of questions Anyone know who's currently out? Bloody cheek DC, anyone would think that he owned the club. Edited February 7, 2018 by optimisticowl
Semedo's ferret
Searching for any comparison to our injury crisis. Came across this from last season. Be interested to see where we would be on this chart

Madine playing a certain number of games would have triggered an additional payment to Carlisle based on the original transfer conditions.

Jeffjohnsonmyhero
Could some of the players be sitting the season out ,If we get hit with FFP ,We will have to sell some ,A fit Tom Lees ,Bannon and FF ,would fetch some cash in . One I am gutted for Kieran Lee ,Sounds like a bad injury ,Rhodes he just don't look happy to me ,Any player not wanting to give his all for Wednesday let em go. Ever the pessimist
Told by someone tonight that Hutch is fit but if we play him it activates some sort of clause that would cost us money. Mind you the same guy said that skeleton found in Barnsley was Forestieri...

Maddogbob
10 hours ago, @owlstalk said: It's baffling innit. Never ever known it to happen to another team anywhere, any time, any place. It's just never happened for the whole first team to be out all at once for such a strange length of time. Conspiracy theorists would have a field day and might probably suggest there are three or four possible scenarios... 1) Genuine injuries - but why the whole first team and why ONLY the first team players? (don't the U23's train on the same pitches?) 2) Money - Can't afford to play them - appearance fees/clauses mean we can't afford to actually play them (we've had this situation before at SWFC) 3) Strike - Someone's cheesed them all off to the point they're just basically on an all out strike and deliberately not playing games? Personally I find it baffling I also find it strange that our fans are so patient on this issue. A bit late to the thread but perhaps a mixture or the three. However perhaps I'd find number 2 more surprising. Let's wait till the annual accounts are filed, that should tell us something money wise.
