Are we "the fans" entitled to information on the injuries?

Recommended Posts

Yes 100000%. It makes zero sense. It's just yet another thing the club are handling poorly. Of course the fans want to know when our best players are back - why would we not want to know this!?!?!? Especially in the current predicament.

As far as I can remember,  only Hooper and Van Aken's were actually sustained during a game,  both at Forest on Boxing Day. Of course,  they may have had "setbacks"  since then.

Forestieri may have got his initial knee injury ingame as well,  seem to remember him being injured against Burton (fouled in the area but naturally not getting the pen) although he did play a few games after before being forced into surgery.

and what other employer would allow their star employee to have a 6 month fully paid sabbatical sitting by his swimming pool in Italy - are any of our medical staff checking on Forestierri’s fitness or is just the case of ‘give us a ring Fernando when you fancy a game!’

The club seem to be reluctant to inform "The fans" the extent of each players injury and when/if they are likely to be fit to play again.

Carlos just said it was the responsibility of the medical team and didn't know or didn't want to know. Jos hasn't said anything about the injuries.

Surely the situation is unprecedented in any football club.

Why can't somebody from the club release a statement about the situation. What the injuries are.

When could they be back.

This at least would give some clarity on the situation.

It will remain a mystery as how these "injuries" were received. Very few seem to have been received during a match. They have been so long ago I can't remember if they were during a game.

The club want input from the fans. Isn't it time the fans got output from the club.

Difficult one this, in a way yes, however, when you have a medical team that you wouldn't trust to remove a splinter, how the hell would they know what they are dealing with and how long the recovery period will be.For most the return is going to be on par with a pre-season. They will need weeks to get fit then weeks to get match fit. This should have been addressed by DC in the January window.

A few snippets of information wouldn't go amiss, even if it is only to give the supporters something to actually look forward to and instil a little confidence.

Don't think we are 'entitled' to be told the injury situation of each player.

However there are press conferences before every game where there is an opportunity for several of our local so called journalists to obtain answers to these questions.

These guys are vague and half hearted in their questioning.

Put the manager on the spot, ask him directly about each injured player.

Jos seems an honest sort of guy. Should be easy enough to get the information.

If he claims not to know ask for someone else from the club to attend who does know.

Yes. We should also publish the full details of all injuries to the opposition.

The interviews I’ve heard with JL have contained detailed questions but he’s quite adept at not answering them.

not really a criticism- a lot of managers are like that.

Yep they let him off the hook very easily

Was even worse with Carlos who found it easy to bore them into submission.

Shouldn't be a promble Shandy.

The opposition already know what the team will be because that's all we've got.

Knowing who is almost ready to return and whether they go straight into the side will be the confusing part for them.

lol

While we don’t need to know the details we should be more aware of severity and when players might be coming back.

The Westwood position is ridiculous for example. We pay hundreds of pounds and have no idea what is wrong or if he will ever play for our club again.

Suppose you knew what the injuries were, what good would it do?

We always used to get this information, even back in the 80's, 90's I remember knowing that a player was out injured, how and for how long. Presumably we're better equipped these days to be more accurate. Nothing more frustrating right now than hoping someone might come back to help us score goals but no-one knows who or when.

That's a bit like saying announcements regarding delayed trains or planes are a waste of time because, if they're late, they're late, what is the point of bothering?
