leono Posted February 4, 2018 Share Posted February 4, 2018 David Jones will never be a fans favourite, but is the type of player you miss when he is not playing. He does an excellent job of reading the game, shielding the defence and breaking up play. His range of passing is pretty good too. Our current formation has a lot of defenders, but unfortunately most of them aren't very good, so they really need someone like Jones in front of them. It's currently far to easy for the opposition to breeze through our midfield. It's unbelievable that Butterfield is starting games over him, when Jones has been arguably the best midfielder (bar reach) under Jos. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

My Hull friend says he always scored against them and Huddersfield fan says he is an attacking midfielder with a good shot on him. Is he fit? Me may be over the hill but in his salad days he was an attacking midfielder who probably played behind Rhodes in 2014 and scored goals. Some players decline quite early .
