history question

Recommended Posts

Looking through my memorabilia collection and came across what I think might be my oldest pieces, pinnace ciggy cards of George Wilson and J.E.Davison featured on the link below. Two things have thrown me Wikipedia, which I know can be wrong states that The Wednesday changed their name in 1929, yet the team photo on the link is from 1920/1.

The other thing is, I never knew we were 'AFC'

There is a black and white photo somewhere of the old stand at Olive Grove with the words 'Sheffield Wednesday' so we have always been known as such and will also always be known as The Wednesday.

In a league full of Citys, Uniteds and Towns, there is only One Wednesday!
