I think this sometimes gets forgotten. If we are paying a player say 35k a week, then you've got to find someone else who is willing to pay that (plus a loan or transfer fee). A lot of players won't take a reduction in salary, even if it means sitting on the bench for another 6-12 months. At the end of the day, it's not Football Manager. This is worrying considering he was 2 year left on his contract and by the sounds of it we really need to fetch some money in and reduce the wage bill.
