Sam Winnall to Stoke may be a possibility if Rowett ends up there

Excellent, Stoke can pass on a fraction of their multi millions for him.

And Derby can also fizz off in the process with their fans going “yeah, he’s okay” and then estimating giving us two buttons for him.

Problem with an embargo is you have your pants pulled down. Yes we will have a few players worth cashing in on but clubs will know this and offer well below the asking price knowing we'd need to sell. If we don't sell you can be sure the dressing room morale will fall as player(s) head will drop.

We dont have to sell if we are under a transfer embargo. I would argue we shouldn't sell anyone as we cant buy any more if we are under embargo. When you are under administration the administrators usually sell off assets, but nobody can make you sell players because you failed some arbitrary rule that is making it impossible for anyone with a rich owner from fulfilling their potential.

Not even that. One button.

You don't have to sell players. but you do have to raise funds. so how else would we do that.

You dont have to. Unless you want the ban lifted. If you make sure you have a promotion team before you are banned then you dont have to worry about it as long as you get promoted.

You do need to get your finances in order though don't you.

But if you are hit with FFP you have to show the Football league you are trying to adhere to the rule or you get hit with further sanctions keeping all of your players and losing £20m+ a season is not showing you are trying to adhere to FFP.

Some players would go you would also try and finish others early yes you lose than year but in season to come by getting rid of Fletcher, Abdi, Matias, Jones and a few others we will save a lot.

So in your scenario you have broken league rule and continue to break league rules by not trying to reduce your losses, but if you finish in the top 2 the same league is going to allow you to get promoted. Or more likely they will issue you with a points deduction so you miss out on the play off and finish 7th.

You can only only do what you want if you have parachute payments :duntmatter:

Did DC not know of FFP before he put us in this financial straight jacket?

They were 'fit' at Preston and early last season.

Stale and unbalanced, squad needs refreshing with pace, power and heading presence to defend high crosses. Minimum.

Let's hope the kids and cheap EPL rejects can do it (another Brunty maybe).

But for this, you need good scouting network and contacts - not ex - Doyen mob.

DC Gambled on promotion in the first two seasons and it very nearly paid off.

I don't think you are going to be happy with any signings we make (if any), let's hope my outlook is the wrong one.

TBH the Rhodes signing has done for us, though there has been a sickening amount of cash absolutely squandered on other signings as well. DC has gambled but not altogether wisely.

So what are the assets that administrators sell off if not players?

I get what you're saying about we don't have to sell but we would. You'd also have players sulking and wanting to leave, it's inevitable.

90 mins away from it paying off.  Can you imagine how many plaudits he would have got if it had have made it come off? Would have been lauded as the best SWFC Chairperson ever.

Were they eck. They were probably fitter at the end of the season (well, the ones still standing) than they were at the start.
