I remember being sat on the bus waiting to get taken back to the station and someone had a radio listening to Radio 2, (equivalent to Five Live now) and there was talk and tut tutting about a "riot" at Oldham. I remember feeling a bit disappointed: was that a riot? This was in the day of the worst of the "troubles" in Belfast. I honestly felt as though I'd missed something. P.S. I'm not denying that there was significant trouble; but a riot? No way. P.P.S. I was at one of the Lincoln matches, but can't remember which.
