After the Burton debacle Lee Bullen came on the radio and said that the sooner that a manager is appointed the better. He cares about the club. If the new manager sees a role for him then good for Lee Bullen. If not then Lee will probably take it with good grace. He cares. I would have thought that he has a role to play given his reasonably long service at the club. Our new manager will surely try to ask his opinion on individual players attitude whilst forming his own opinion.

Neither JL or any of those he's bringing in are going to have a sufficient working knowledge of either the division or the players in the squad.

As to the players, I'd rather a new manager not be prejudiced by a previous regime's views, but the division is different, and having someone around to provide insight into that, even if it's only for between now and May, is invaluable, and the idea of dispensing with Bullen just in order to fulfil some notion of a clean sweep would be to shoot ourselves in the foot.

For now, at least, Bullen has a role.

I can see point in having himpresent for handover for a couple of weeks as when CC went he took 4 or 5 with him. Advising him on how things stand but knowledge of other teams and advice on that I would be surprised.

Having said that his football coaching ability is lacking and being associated with previous incumbent who did nothing re long term progression of club is poor. The argument he knows young players at club which has been used elsewhere is strange as none of them got pushed forward the way they should have been. If we are pushed for cash one of them who can be released at end of contract without any worries or let go earlier if cheaper option.

Read all the things bully can bring but one thing no one has mentioned is that he could sit next to the driver with the mike, like they do on holiday trips.

A lot of hate for Bullen on here,

i think you are confusing management and coaching -

bullen is a first-rate coach, uefa pro licence, we have a good academy set up which he has been a part of in the past.

As a manager, he has no experience - and didn’t pass the test, doesn’t mean we just show him the door.

He was in charge of U/23s was moved away from them. look at results before and after his move from U/23s. Ramsdale and Thompson are the ones primarily responsible for improvement in academy /U23 and coaching standards. Personally no dislike of him seems pleasant bloke but just because you are amiable does not mean you keep job.

He could do glad handing job that Hirst and Pearson used to do at matches and no problem with him being at club in this function if there is a role.

Lets say he is more a motivator than a tactician. The biggest bar to getting a top licence is cost rather than passing the exam. If good why is he never associated with other managers/ coaching roles.

Bullen stood up and stepped into the breach, don’t understand the comments on here.

Harsh but fair enough,

One of the biggest barriers to getting coaching licences isn’t just the cost, it's the time - it takes around a year to get UEFA B licence if you are also working,

ex-Pros can start now at UEFA A licence but still a big investment of time -

however, ultimately still doesn’t mean you are going to be good at the job...

Agree about time element, it means overall cost is substantial if you are not being sponsored to train.
