Quist and the i Newspaper

Recommended Posts

Every Saturday the i newspaper publishes a short comment on each Championship club from internet web site posters.

On Saturday 6th January the i newspaper quoted Quist from OwlsTalk:

"Jos Luhukay would be an underwhelming appointment.  Not worked for 18 months and once won the German second division some years ago.  Strikes me as a slightly worse variant of a Germa/Dutch Paul Lambert."

Well Quist could not even get the facts right as Jos Luhukay has won Bundesliga 2 with three different clubs ( Very similar record to Neil Warnock a promotion specialist here).

Anyway I have written to the i newspaper asking them not to print any other comments from Quist as I do believe he is not in tune with the SWFC fan base.

I am pleased with the appointment and think lots of others are too.  He certainly deserves a chance.

In an era of fake news I wrote to the i newspaper to say that Quist could not not even be bothered to spend 10 seconds googling to get the facts right.

Quite clearly Quist just made this up.

Personally I am backing Jos Luhukai and am hopeful that he will succeed.

I just wrote to the newspaper telling them to quote more of Quist

I think we could all do with quoting a bit more of Quist in this thread...

Last night we had players who looked much better than they had previously. They were fitted into a system which suited them. Therefore I do not think anyone knows quite what is our best team until players are properly fit and has worked out who is likely to be back before end of season. .I think it is clear defence lacks mobility and new individuals are required. Pudil did well last night was best defender. I think he is probably best left back at club but he will also be in 3 best centre backs at club. if he does play in centre of defence think we need left back. Joao was excellent at defensive set pieces made more clearances than any body else without him in line up think defending would have been weaker. do you keep him in side for this reason alone. Think there are lots of issues to resolve and I was impressed with what JL did in his first game and feel confident he will make correct calls. Personally I do not expect any activity in transfer market until end of window unless need for replacement centre back for Loovens.

Ooof! What a beauty!

Perhaps @Owlstalk is annoyed that Quist is quoted in connection with OwlsTalk.

Though they always say that there is no such thing as bad publicity.

No one has questioned that what Quist said was lazy and inaccurate.

Let us be clear our new manager has won promotion from Bundesliga 2 on three separate occasions.

Even more importantly surely we need to give Jos Luhukai a chance.
