Injured player return ETA's

Really happy with last nights performance.

I could not find another thread on this and I was just watching back the highlights from last night thinking - I would love to see us play that formation with a first team.

Does anyone have any information at all on when the following players may become available to play:

Westwood

Lees

Van Aken

Hunt

Hutchinson

Lees

Bannan

Abdi

Forestieri

Hooper

Fletcher

Did I miss anyone?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can assist with the info.

Not sure about them all. Bannan is out for two months, Hutch for a few weeks. Abdi I don’t think is injured just struggling for match fitness. Think Fessi is middle of February.

Was surprised to hear this last night. Hopefully this is a sign that JL is keen to give players a chance to properly recover rather than rushing them back and risking further problems. Give them all time and let some of the youth have a chance. The rest of this season should be about planning and finding out what we need for next 2018/19.

With none back soon it does concern me as to whether we have enough to pick up some wins in the next few weeks. I wonder how many we get in during January.  We really are down to the bare bones and whilst last night was very uplifting, I’d like to see at least a couple of fresh faces.

i also wonder whether Jos has the ability to get more out of Rhodes, Abdi and Mattias because if he somehow can rediscover the 3 players, then that will certainly add something. Oh and there’s Boyd, I’ve seen all but 1 game he’s played in and I struggle to see what he brings to the team, so there’s another guy who may be a welcome addition if we get him up to his Burnley form.

I agree I think the majority of Wednesday fans will accept we can’t get into the playoffs this season and now it’s about restoring pride, but about preparing for next season. So let’s allow injured players to come back when they are fully ready and sign some loan players to help form a team in the meantime. I think a centre back, central midfield general and pacy wide/forward player are what’s needed right now, plus throw in some youngsters too as we did last night

JL said post match none of them were close.

Plus now Loovens banned for one game.

So most of the team picks itself for the next game or two. Might see Matias, Butterfield and hopefully Abdi back in for the cup game.

Loovens misses 2 games I think

Yup. Half price sale, be happy with 5m. Hopefully Coleman will buy out of desperation to try and save Sunderland then JR unfortunately will be where he belongs. League One.

Id be happy with £3m. Big thing is saving his significant wages of around £40-45k a week.

We could bring in 3 loan players there which is needed with our injury problems.

I actually think Sunderland will have a look at him.

This is an arrogant view IMO. We are 7 points off of relegation and it could be 4 after today. We deserve credit for last night sure, but how are we going to go about winning a game? It will be interesting to see how JL goes about this, but with this current group of players I struggle to see how we are going to try and get all 3 points against Cardiff next week. It's not like we are able to nick a goal from a set-piece and sit on it either - we are actually an anti-threat from set-pieces! We HAVE to bring somebody in who can take somebody on and turn a game. Somebody like that Sakho at Palace (formally at Wolves) if he would be available. Otherwise, we are very much in a relegation dog fight until our injured players return (which presents its own problems of them slotting back in and getting back up to 100% fitness) and we get the right balance.

2.4m per year in wages to fall over and miss easy headers. OMG

You’ve missed my point slightly as “restoring pride” and “signing 3 players now to make a team” were in reference to being good enough to stay up this season, otherwise why would I suggest signing new players?  It would have been more arrogant for me to say I think we can still make the playoffs!

Anyway, I agree we are in a relegation battle but I believe the squad we had last night plus 3 high quality loan additions should be enough to stay in this league

When we say ‘close’ how is that defined? A week?

From my understanding the below:

lees- had a setback about a week ago but should be back 3 weeks

bazza- another setback but early Feb potentially

ff- always heard January , so could be back within 2 weeks

lee- probably towards end of season

westwood- they said he could be fit for the derby so surely only a week/2 away

hutch-‘probably miss the derby ‘ was branded before the game so surely again not too long

fletch- unsure

hooper- seeing specialists so not sure

van aken- few weeks tops

hunt—also said he could have been back for the derby so again few weeks

surely be February 75% of above should be ready
