fredmciverslovechild Posted January 10, 2018 Share Posted January 10, 2018 For a few years in the 2000's we used to go down to Oakwood Theme Park as part of a weekend of rollercoastering with the club we were members of. I can remember one year we had a drive down to the Pendine Sands which are nearby and stopped off in a pub on the sea front. I'm not quite sure how but I got talking to the manager who'd evidently been there a good few years about Wednesday and about Tony Toms who was well known in the area. He told me that as part of pre-season training when Big Jack was manager the squad used to go down there every year. Every mornings training would finish with the same ritual; they'd have a run finishing in the pub where they'd have lunch.....but the last to arrive would have to pick up the whole tab out of his wages.
