OFFICIAL - SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY HAVE NEW MANAGER

Recommended Posts

I see this as making relegation very unlikely.

We build for next year.  Brighton had two good seasons, then a poor one, before the one where they came third.

If I have one wish it's that younger players  - Clare and Penney the obvious two - get a go.  Circumstances may make that unavoidable.

A good day.

Well he wouldn’t have been my first choice - in fact let’s be honest  I’d never heard of him so he wouldn’t have been in my top 100 - but I like that he’s a promotion specialist, I like that he’s managed three bigger clubs, I like that he puts an emphasis on discipline and organisation and I like that he’s a manager not a head coach. Oh and I like his smile :stuwinky:

I look forward with cautious optimism.

Hope everyone is patient with this.

We're in a right old pickle at the moment and it ain't gonna change in a few weeks.

He needs this season to assess.

Then the summer transfer window to get the right deals done and then a few months at least into the new season to see what he's all about.

Patience everyone. Patience...

Agreed. I think things will get worse before improvement is seen

The injury situation is a nightmare and positive results may not arrive quickly. He's going to need our full support

Interesting he walked out of last job after 5 games after disagreeing with transfer policy.

Now he's manager not head coach of Wednesday. That indicates (hopefuly) he has more control.

I have a feeling Mr Chansiri is wising up. First a CEO then a manager.

Are Wednesday starting to look like a professionally run club?

Only time will tell. Lets please get behind them in welcoming the newcomers

Sheffield Wednesday are delighted to announce the appointment of Jos Luhukay as the club’s new manager.

The Dutchman arrives at Hillsborough with a wealth of experience in the German Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga.

In the world of German football, the 54-year-old is regarded as ‘the Bundesliga promotion expert’ as no other coach in Germany can demonstrate a better track record.

Every club in 2. Bundesliga Luhukay has coached has achieved promotion.

Born in Venlo, Netherlands, the former midfielder signed for hometown club VVV-Venlo as a 15-year-old in 1989.

Following a spell with RKC Waalwijk between 1991 and 1993, Luhukay headed for Germany where he embarked on a successful coaching career after two stints with SV Straelen and KFC Uerdingen as a player.

Welcome to The owls Jos. Now kick some ass!
