Not if he was the last manager alive would I ever want to watch his boring, miserable style of football ever again...I’d rather hang from a tree by my gonads while shoving unopened conkers up my jacksy

Would you be ok if we went down then?

I'm not saying we will if we don't appoint Megson or owt, but we certainly wouldn't if we did.

The way some people go on about the football under Megson you'd think he'd been subjecting us to torture for decades while copping off with everyones' mother. Carlos played equally negative football this season and took us backwards, like it or not, this club moved forward under GM.

Think we need to get a bit of perspective, football has never been, and particularly when your on a run like us, a bleeding beauty contest.

Imo megson is the only manager currently available who could/would tell it how it is to both chansiri and the fanbase.  I don't think a perfect relationship with the chairman is particularly warranted at the moment, more someone prepared to say, 'now shut the fornicate up, make yourself comfortable; and let ME get on with the job of stabilising the club'  I doubt anyone else out there would have the gonads or sufficient respect from the fans, to get away with saying this to both parties; without deepening the current rifts.

He failed in division one but because he used to play for us he’s seen as some sort of messiah. He hasn’t had one managers job since he left us and that’s not because he has been unlucky, it’s because  he’s shi te. If he was an ex Wednesday manager who had never played for us he would be seen as no different to Jewel, Irvine or the rest of the failures. If he’s the best we can hope for then we really are fu ck ed

I’d have him back, but my worry is whether he will get on with the regime.

having said that, in their drive to apparently commercialise the club, he might help balance things - not just results, but in terms of identity / ethos

The way he got on so well with the last one you mean?

Dont let the facts get in the way of a good story now will you?

He didn't work as that was part of the severence deal with MM. He said so on Alan Biggs show, when his exclusion period was up he got back into work again at west brom with pulis. If youre going to come on and shout the odds then at least have the gumption to check your facts first. Danny wilson played for us and we dont want him back. What we do need though is some ruddy commitment and a bit of backbone wouldn't go amiss. Some of us think megson could just be the man to do that.

I nearly forgot....we did lose to stevenage though.......

jewel, irvine, and a good few more managed us when we were nigh on bankrupt, we had pennies to spend, whilst others spent hundreds of thousands. when megson came to the club i believe he thought MM would change that (and he did, BUT only to a certain extent). i think megson thought we were putting a side together to compete for the L1 title, and then compete at the top end of the championship. whilst milan was interested in promotion for a price, and moving the club on into different hands.

i've just read a title saying 'WE WON'T GO DOWN', well how many times in football have we heard 'THEY'RE TOO GOOD TO GO DOWN' the facts are IF you accrue sufficient points in a season to finish in the bottom 3 YOU GO DOWN, no matter how good you are. this lot of ours don't look like 'BATTLERS' to me, and the end of season scramble at the bottom is generally won by 'batters'. burton showed us (with their usual outcome against us, and colin's sides generally do the same) we CAN be out battled.

IF one qualified man is available to steer this lot to safety, i would prefer him to be as BIG A WEDNESDAYITE as any of us.

IF he was known for getting his sides fit, both physically and mentally, then that would be better.

IF he was so passionate about wednesday winning, he was a 'fireball', then GREAT.

IF he'll get the ball into opponents penalty area's more often, with more wednesday players in attacking positions, better still.

IF you think his football is 'BORING' you haven't been watching the same first 45 'dressage' that i have, where the side has no intent, where passing backwards and sideways is seen as 'PROGRESS' where getting the ball out on the flank involves 20+ passes, and should a cross eventually come, we have used up so many men in the move in m/f and on the flank, we've next to no one in the middle.

i remember many years ago under laws, we were struggling at the bottom (that makes a change) and lawsy had the side doing shooting practice, i believe we beat high flying burnley 3-1 with an absolute distance spanker from tudgay, what's our lot been practicing? not breaking sweat?

i'm starting to feel like he's the only person who would get us a result at the sty right now

Not just thinking about that game but the remainder of the season and next season, I really think we need someone who cares about the club. I would forget all the big names or foreign coaches and go for someone like Gary Megson; Nigel Pearson, Dean Smith or Paul Hurst. We need someone with a connection to the club. Personally I'd love to see us get both Paul Hurst and Gary Megson, if possible to work alongside one another in some way? Or I'd consider bringing in Megson until the end of the season and then going for someone like Paul Hurst or Dean Smith in the summer?

Same here mate, it's been a nightmarish and hurtful season on and off the pitch. I would never have seen this coming after Wembley but we've lost all the excitement and togetherness of Carlos' first season and its become a toxic depressing shambles on and off the pitch. My hope is that we look at clubs like Cardiff, last season they were in a similar state and in a similar League position. They brought in Warnock and now they're back to challenging for top 6. I reckon the new manager has got to be someone that cares about and loves the club.

Your complete lack of facts marks you out as possible pork. I have only ever heard pigs slag Megson off the way you have and they did it because of the battle of b'hole lane, where he wiped the floor with a set of dirty cheating pigs showed their their dirty cheating Colin up for what he really is.

Megson has not applied for any managerial posts that we have been told of and was asked to help out at West Brom by Pulis because they are friends going way back.

Megson's managerial statistics and the fact he got us to third place, before taking 4 points from united, the last 3 of which made our automatic promotion possible, also shows that you have little grasp of the facts. The well documented bust up with Mandaric who talked the big talk while funding the small walk, led to us signing one kind of player instead of another and resulted in Mandaric and Megson falling out over Megson's inclusion of the said player on more than one occasion. The final one being the derby match which Wednesday won due to the inclusion of the said player and the MASSIVE celebration with Megson , which made MM look very silly after his very loud and very public pre-match argument about it.

I believe Megson would keep us up and get the team in a better shape than they are now, but may not be the long term solution and would certainly fall out big style with the newly appointed CEO (I believe!).

So stop being silly!

Megson should be given to the end of the season to steady the ship, and we can evaluate where to go from there. We need someone who knows the club, has experience, and can give the players a kick up the ar*se. Megson fits the criteria.
