SallyCinnamon 24,156
I've defended Rhodes in the past but I'm struggling now. He was awful today and I think he's just lost that ability to score goals.
gurujuan 13,083
You know my thoughts on this, I protested long and loud when we were first linked with him The game has moved on, and has left players like him, who can’t adapt, redundant He’s a League One striker at best Ironically, he might then be useful to us next season
Bouncing Owl 4,888
He’s just not a good footballer. He cannot lead the line, cannot hold the ball up, he can’t link play, he doesn’t hardly win any headers against the defenders. Worst of all, he just gets out-muscled against the opposition defenders and he permanently finds himself on the floor. It’s embarrassing! When he starts missing gilt edged chances like he did just before half time, you have to wonder what he is giving the team. It’s like playing with 10 men. I hope he sorts it out but I cannot see it. You can tell he’s a thoroughly nice chap unlike some we’ve had at the Club over the years.
Eaton_Swfc 5,697
Has been like playing with 10 men when he plays practically since he signed.
Buckwheat 247
Happens that some players play well for and are a match for some teams and then not for others. Bruyne was crap at Chelsea but not too bad at Man City.

He's had ZERO impact. We've no idea to play to him, he's no idea how to play for us. He looks like a competition winner in almost very game he has played. Slow, sluggish, weak, can't trap a bag of wind, and his goalscoring abilities have simply vanished. He misses more chances than any other of our strikers, yet is continually excused for them. We spunk our remaining FFP budget on him, which will put the club back at the very least, by a couple of years. What makes the whole sorry episode even worse...is the fact that many fans knew he wasn't what we needed. A staggeringly inept piece of business. It's the hardest thing to stomach for me, why is he continually excused for all the chances he's missed and all the poor performances? Some peoole in here are even even saying he's a nice guy. Who cares!!! Much rather have Winnall who has that nasty streak in him.
M1towers 1
Is there any truth in the story that he trains alone and not with the team? would make sense that he has no idea what the rest of the team are dong
A12owl 12,797
There were a lot of similar comments about Winnall when he joined and failed to score . He is now getting the right service and is scoring. It was said early on that Rhodes didn't suit our style of play. We havnt changed that style of play so he still doesn't suit us . If he goes somewhere else he will score goals because a decent manager will realise what an asset they have and make sure they play to his strengths. Strikers live off confidence . Carlos has killed most of our players confidence with his idiotic tactics and player selection. A good manager will sort Out the tactical and confidence problems by either rollicking or gentle arm round the shoulder. Unfortunately with the latest appointment of CEO I think the chances of a Top manager has gone. We will never see the best of Rhodes now I fear. Wasted talent . Carlos has a lot to answer for. The latest episodes stink of something fishy. Chansiri rant. Carlos leaves and walks straight into a premier job. It was planned before he left. Meire the wicked witch appointed .Preparing Chansiri's exit. Players not got a clue what to do. Fans/supporters/customers completely bamboozled what's happened and why. Mushroom management by Chansiri. Shovel sh*t on everybody and keep them in the dark. Roll on 2019 cos 2018 is rubbish.

Ironman 874
I'm not far off 40, not played football properly since I was 16, and was pretty Bob even then, yet I know I could offer more than Rhodes offers us. I've never seen a player involved as little as he is. I've never seen a player have fewer touches. He literally is invisible. Nuhiu was 100 times better than him in that second half. i used to be sc_owl 7,935
If he was the only player not performing, I would be more inclined to believe the problem was with the player. The fact is, the whole team is underperforming which leads me to believe the problem is not with the players but rather how they have been coached and managed.

I'm an Essex Owl 712
Really want him to succeed but he was awful today. Maybe even our worst player and in the words of Blackadder that was up against some pretty stiff competition...
