Newcastle's decline wasn't mclarens fault. It had already started the season before when they sacked pardew and slid down the league and luckily stayed up with a win on last day. They were going down anyway. Surely you should have know that living in Newcastle?

 

No, it wasn’t quite inevitable. Newcastle spent 70m after Pardew left in order to prevent that and got worse with McLaren as manager. There were a number of factors that have been an issue there but they were absolutely awful under him as manager and to suggest he wasn’t to blame or have involvement is untrue. Even our “reserves” beat them at their place.
