At the point of collapse

Recommended Posts

Players are as frustrated as the fans with the turgid tactics and the fact that the club has been treading water for 18 months but now slowing sinking

Carlos has brainwashed DC and is just doing all he can to save his own skin.

The likes of Lee, Hooper, Bannan, Rhodes, Westwood etc will be looking to get out of this circus in January. They have careers to think of and don’t want to be stuck in a huge rut.

Best players start to leave, squad disillusioned then REAL problems start.

Carlos needs to go now or we will end up back in League 1, no fans, garbage players.

Someone needs to explain to DC that his investment is about to blow up in his face unless he changes staff immediately.

Hes needs to come out of Carlos back pocket first

cant imagine there being much room for him in there, what with all the notebooks full of excuses.

The likes of Bannan and Hooper have looked very frustrated figures recently. If we remain at least 12 points behind the play offs come January, it wouldn't surprise me that we'll see some player movement, and perhaps not the players we want to see move.

Even if that was true though, which club are they going to go to that will pay a transfer fee for them plus the wages they get at SWFC?

Very doubtful any PL clubs. 95% of Championship clubs couldn't afford them and the remaining 5% that could, probably don't need them. You would quite literally need to give them away just to get the wages off the clubs back.

Tom Lees signed a new deal worth £25k a week in 2016.

Westwood, Forestieri and Hutchinson also signed new deals in 2016, it's not unrealistic to presume their agents negotiated the same. Abdi, Jones, Fletcher and Reach will all be on £25k+. Hooper and Rhodes will be on £35k+.

Would you disagree with any of those?

You are assuming he cares.

FWIW I believe you are spot on JV I've said several times that posters who think and state we'll have a clear out and get new, younger, 'hungry to do well' players in in the near future are being unrealistic ...would you in your early 30's give up 20k a week plus to move for less when your are guaranteed it for another two years or so...no you wouldn't.

You only have to look at McGugan and players like Urby pay em too much and they'll go when their contracts end not before.

There isn't one player on our books that would go the Premier League. Westwood for his saves has poor distribution

Lee is injury prone but I  struggle to work out what his actual role is as he often disappears in games

Hooper Bannan and Rhodes have already been there and were deemed not good enough.

Oh but silly me I forgot we do have a player wanted by a Premier League club in George Hirst that our club has messed around.

We have spiked an awful lot of money on silly wages and have seen no value whatsoever for it.

And six of those were injured. Would have been a different result with those available. Our reserves almost won last night. Too much doom and gloom around.

Unfortunately mate the doom and gloom correlates to what's being served up. Credit to you for a positive post and what you say about last night is probably correct but it doesn't change what's been served up even with those players we didn't have last night being in the team.

you don't know if those figures are true; no one does, and you don't know what the average in the league is or what other teams pay.

From a neutrals point of view it looked like a defensive training session for Wolves. How to defend a lead comfortably for 55 mins.

As soon as they scored, out went the 3-4-3 and they went 5-4-1, shut up shop.

SWFC bring on Nuhiu and Jaoa, Wolves take off a left back and bring on another big centre half in Danny Batth. You could have been playing till next Saturday and not scored.

At the Sheffield derby a well known figure in Sheffield football told me we have 10 players earning over £30k/week and the blunts didn't have one on half that.
