Carlos "I agree we have a lack of pace"

Owls head coach Carlos has explained the loss of Forestieri and what it means to his team and acknowledged there is a real lack of pace in the Sheffield Wednesday team without him

 

Carvalhal was discussing Forestieri's injury in yesterdays press conference and the impact it's had on the tactics, but Carlos acknowledges Forestieri’s absence also shines a light on the lack of pace in the side.

 

“If he is 100% fit we will not talk about pace because in the first year we didn’t talk about pace"

 

"The second season more because he was injured towards the end of the season. When he plays it is completely different"

 “You can say to me, we don’t have Forestieri, we can achieve a different player. To achieve a player like Forestieri you must spend 10 or 15 million and under financial fair play we can’t do that"

He was on the flipping bench before his injury. Plus Forestieri isn't particularly pacey.

So he admits that we have no cover for the bets player in the squad.....and he's assembled a squad at no little cost with only 1 player who can run quick......that admission itself is worthy of his P45

Got to agree pal, he's had plenty of time and money to assemble a team/squad that has more pace/power and has instead wasted huge sums on slow one dimensional injury prone players like Abdi, Fletcher, Jones, Rhodes, Butterfield, Fox ect.

Smacks of incompetence that we should rely on ONE player from such a MASSIVE squad to supply us with pace.

FF isn’t even quick. If CC stopped buying identikit players that have zero strength and turn like oil tankers maybe when one of strikers holds the ball up some players might pass him

thing is he was asked this same question earlier in season and didn't agree with the question he was asked by reporter saying we had enough, now he says we aint! what a joke!. he even gives reasons why why we sit back more now as we aint the players to press higher up the pitch,but wernt it his job to bring these players in over last 18 months which we apart from him we all knew we needed.

Carlos says that's because the fans boo the players if they make a mistake

Considering he is supposed to have the final say on transfers, why hasn't this issue been addressed? 

 

FF isn't even the quickest player we have.

FF, when fit is a multi million pound player, so you say that we should just buy another multi million pound  player as cover, how will that work exactly?

But lets be honest, Carlos doesn't know where to play FF, so was Reach his replacement, was Winnall his replacement, was Boyd his replacement, was Rhodes his replacement?
